Surgery Yesterday
The surgeon said everything went very smoothly -- which is awesome.
However, I am hating this post op pain and nausea. Yesterday was horrible. I slept pretty much the whole day until I was ale to take some liquid pain killers.
Today I felt pretty decent after the liquid pain killers in the hospital. I was discharged and I am home. I am in so much pain now. I took a pain pill but it doesn't seem to help.
I just want to sleep and I don't have a recliner. I also don't want to sleep all day and then can't sleep at night.
I am walking as much as I can tolerate. I am just in a lot of pain and feel nauseous again. I hope this gets better soon!

It will get better honey. Just try to keep your drink by your bed, and sip every time you wake. Try getting several pillows to prop up with if you can't get comfy flat in your bed. I didn't have a recliner either. Take your pain medicine and stay ahead of the pain. Also take your nausea medication. A lot of people said the surgery went really easy but I had a rude first couple of days, by day 4 you'll feel so much better I bet. There's no shame in taking your medicine and resting right now

Hang in there-- it will get a little better every day. Give yourself time to feel better and try to stay hydrated. I am 2 months out and I can hardly remember the first few difficult days.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the encouragement. I went to the ER as I threw up and was in horrible pain and nauseous.
They did a cat scan and turns out part of my small intestine was swollen and wouldn't let anything pass through. So everything I was drinking was backing up. Got admitted to the hospital again and threw up there once. Felt better after that.
Had a few bowel movements with gas in that end so that is a great sign things have opened up. Haven't had any liquids all day Thursday-- just on IV fluids. They are giving me liquids today to see how I'm doing. So far so good. Fingers crossed!!!
