What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning everyone. Still in the hospital here. Hoping to go home today. They let me sleep last night for 11 hours!!! I feel pretty good. Sipping and walking and sipping and walking.
qotd: I love the smell of fresh donuts. I have a Safeway by my house with a great bakery. Almost anytime of the day it smells like donuts. I read somewhere that a lot of enjoyment eating food comes from smell so I breathe in those donut smells to get my donut fix. (My husband calls donuts "fat pills", lol.)
No food for me today which is fine with me. Not even remotely interested.
Good morning all. AV, I did notice that you were rocking the black/khaki. I agree, when it works, why change?? I am looking less than fierce today. I got ZERO sleep last night. I received a letter from my insurance company telling me they will no longer cover my acid meds (my surgeon said I may need to take it for a while after surgery) With insurance my meds are $150 a month. My surgeon and I are convinced the Ins. Co is retaliating against me for filing a claim with the Dept. of Insurance and we're terrified that they now won't approve my revision. Anyway, last night if you would have looked up "emotional eater" in the dictionary, you would have seen my picture. Hershey's dark chocolate kisses were my friend. Then I sat up all night pondering the best way to get back at my ins. co and worrying that they won't approve the revision. It's going to be a looooonnnnnggggg day.
AV - I've never had a Pecan Sandie. When we were growing up the cookies of choice were Oreos or nutter butters. I'd kill for a nutter butter right now!
QOTD - laundry fresh from the dryer . . . although rye toast is a close second. I also love the smell of the ocean, jasmine and honeysuckle.
Here's the plan . . . going to try like hell to stick with it.
B: Turkey, cheese and pesto, latte made with 4 oz fairlife milk
L: chicken thigh, edamame
D: Shrimp sauteed in .5 tbs olive oil, salad
S: Light and Fit
Totals: Cal. 928; Protein: 105g; Fat: 43g; Carbs: 21g
FYI my insurance was fighting tooth and nail to deny my revision and it was finally approved because I called the dept of labor on them bc I met all the criteria and they were denying for bogus reasons. She ( dept of labor ) assured me that they can not get by with retaliation even if they try... But hopefully everything goes your way !!

Good morning all of you lovely peeps. I am sitting in the back of a conference room, in a 3 hours quality meeting, posting this. I am hoping that everyone thinks I am diligently taking notes, as opposed to slacking off online.
The Who concert last night was amazing. I am humbled watching Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend, in their early 70s, running around the stage, paying instruments and singing as well as they did in their 20s. Makes me wonder what I've done with my life, and pretty much destroys any excuses about staying fit and active into mature adult years. They are an inspiration. Plus, they rocked it hard. So good!
QOTD: I love the smell of the first fresh mown grass of the spring. There is something very special about that particular scent. I also am a scented candle hoarder. I always have multiple ones burning whenever I am in the house. I like seasonal scents, like mango in the summer, pumpkin spice or apple in the Fall, pine scents in the winter, etc. I also like food scents burning in the kitchen, like vanilla, spices, etc. It is always a disappointment to people when they come over and think I am baking, but it is a candle. They should know me better than that. While I love to cook, i do not bake.

Oooh, watermelon. I heart watermelon. They had some at Wegmans over the weekend but I would've had to practically take a personal loan to afford one.
