What's on Your (photo) Friday Menu, RNYers?

Good morning! No outdoor photos here - maybe I'll take some while walking the dogs or in the garden this summer. QOTD: Have canned food, bottled water, a cellphone power bank, a couple of flashlights and some candles on hand. I would read using my tablet until the charge ran out. In the past, if the power outage lasted more than a few hours, I'd drive to the nearest coffee shop with power to get hot coffee for my thermos and recharge my phone and tablet. Because I lived in the Canadian Midwest for so many years, prepping for winter emergencies or storm-related power outages is an ingrained habit. Edited to add: also have a crank radio/flashlight from Lee Valley.

Rainy here this weekend, so it looks like the basement cleanup is a go. Now to find the motivation....

B: quick steel cut oats

L: salmon and avocado (such a delicious combo)

D: roast beef

S: yogurt, fruit

I had already taken my photo Friday one when I read it was supposed to be outdoors. What the what? 

Qotd: I would find candles. We have w bunch of them usually.

Good morning everyone!

Outside photos? Not here. In my worldview, with the exception of the beach, outside is the place you have to go temporarily in order to get from one inside place to another inside place.  Or, to quote my favorite television show, "If outside is so good, why has mankind spent thousands of years trying to perfect inside?" (P.S.: If you know the origin of that quote without googling it, you are automatically one of my favorite people ).

QOTD: I hate blackouts.  When the power goes out I freeze, hoping that the power comes back on quickly, while becoming increasingly anxious with every second that it doesn't.  I use my phone as flashlight to get around, and start thinking about how long I have before it's battery is dead.  Fortunately, most of our power lines are underground so when the power does go out it's only for a few seconds -- I assume it's the power company people turning it off to fix a problem happening elsewhere.  In the last few years, while our county has seen numerous power outages with some lasting weeks, our power has only gone out for a max of 20 minutes at a time. It's usually less than 2 minutes.

I watch it so often my DOG knows the series!  There are a few episodes he doesn't like because of loud noises -- especially the Halloween pranks with the buzzer and the horn in the mailbox in "the good guy fluctuation."  He used to run around the room barking at the TV when he heard the noises.  Now he starts growling at the beginning of the episode.  Every. Single. Time.

Good morning (it's still morning in the central time zone). I've been in all day meetings the past two days and this morning I had a job interview. I won't get it but it never hurts to try. 

The pic is me in a suit.  Haven't worn one in years, shopping for one last night was kind of fun.

My eating has been crap lately.  No clue what's on the menu.  I'm going to take a nap, did I mention I took the day off ?
