Diagnose me!?!? lol
Before I start let me say I already have an appointment for an endoscopy with my surgeon next week.
So I just noticed today that I have a big hardish lump next to my left rib, pretty much where my bra band sits, almost at the middle of my body. It is pretty much right under one of my incision scars from my RNY.
It is tender to the touch. I can see it from the outside. But it doesn't really show in pictures since my ribs stick out now and it just makes that run look "bigger"
Any ideas what it could be?
Ok. I was planning on having my surgeon take a look when I am there for my endoscopy.
Stupid question, could a hernia cause heartburn type symptoms? Or contribute to my problem eating dense protein (well keeping it down anyway)? I know nothing about hernias.

simple answer - yes.
I had a few hernias. Now - I don't have hernia - but we think I have some nerve damage - in small intestine.. That causes the food to just "sit there" until it passes on due to gravity...or another food pushing it down... great, no?
I have GERD, and pain... I am on a very strong PPI... Life is fun...

My hernia from the band gave me the WORST heartburn! And I wouldn't be surprised if after it is gone you have a better time with the dense protein. Good luck!
