What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

"Contacts instead of glasses" just made me spit coffee. Haha--we've all been there! Good luck at your appointment!
Hi Everyone! Sorry I'm chiming in late today. My daughter is in Washington DC and is sick so I've been worrying about her. Almost had my brother take her to the ER in the middle of the night, thinking it was appendicitis, but I guess she's better today. So hard when your "baby" is so far away and is sick.
QOTD: I fell on my left knee. Didn't realize the knee cap was fractured until it suddenly snapped in two pieces one night! Had to have the ambulance come. They did surgery (3 times), wired it back together, but it never did heal so finally they removed the bottom half of my knee cap. This all took like 9 months to heal. Then for no reason my leg bone snapped. Again it took nearly a year to heal. Then a bone in my foot snapped when I was just standing there. Again it took nearly a year to heal. Finally an astute doctor realized that one of my parathyroid glands was enlarged, causing me to break bones easily. They removed the parathyroid gland and I've had no problem with broken bones since.
My menu yesterday was: Protein shake, cottage cheese, 2 oz. steak, string cheese sticks and an Atkin's snack bar. Today will probably be similar.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

This is my first time posting on this thread. I've been reading it with interest for weeks now. ?
My RNY was scheduled for June 6, but complications from a hiatal hernia have moved the date up to next Monday. Eek! I'm on a liquid diet until then and after of course. I stopped and bought some protein powder from Sprouts and it's really good. Not so sweet as Premier.
qotd: I once had a mini trampoline in my classroom for a student with autism. It got moved one day and I tripped over it and broke both bones in my lower leg. The worst part was laying on the floor (fat) and all the administration people ran in to see if I was okay. I wasn't.
Food for today: chicken salad sandwich for lunch (my last solid food for a while) and protein shakes.
