It's been 11 years and still at goal.
Thanks Penny!
RH really does suck. I went to a birthday Saturday and only ate a small plate of chicken and rice and beans and a sliver of cake, got home and fell into a carb coma and woke drenched in sweat so low I couldn't even see to test. I just started stuffing food in my mouth until I could mildly function again, super bad, super scary. I have seen 45 on my tester too many times. But this happened right as my hormones were raging, two days before my period started when crashes are always more probable. I could eat the same meal a week after my period ends with no reaction. I still have those days, even after years of maintenance. It really does suck sometimes to feel like a slave to your blood sugar, so I try hard to not get myself in trouble to start with but no one is perfect.
Good luck with your weight loss, I am always trying to lose 5lbs, makes me feel like I accomplished something but it's the same pounds up and down all the time no doubt.
Hi Heidi,
I am always glad to see success stories so far out. I am almost a year out and still have a bit to go until I get to goal, but I know I will get there.
My questions is in regards to your labs. How are they? Do you have any significant deficiencies or have had deficiencies that you have improved with supplements?
Thanks!
My labs are perfect except for being anemic but it is improving. I had surgery in 2014 and my iron level was quite low and it has taken a long time to build it back up naturally. I do not take supplements. My personal choice, I DO NOT advocate for no supplements, my husband takes them, I just do not feel personally there is a need if I eat a healthy diet and have labs drawn and all is well as mine are. I fear the impact of all those chemicals passing through the kidneys, so at this time I do not take supplements, I have in the past and would again if anything became out of synch. Again this is my personal decision based on how I feel about natural choices above chemicals.
