New here and surgery in less than 1 week!
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum, but wanted to introduce myself and get involved. My name is Jenna and I am 28 years old, 29 in June. I'm looking forward to a new lease on life and finally becoming healthy and eventually being able (hopefully) to have children. I have PCOS which has made it almost impossible to conceive on our own. We went to a fertility specialist, but they wouldn't help us with my weight being so high. I've tried so many different things which some things work but then I just gain it back again, sometimes more. Now I have a great job and I am so much less stressed. I am ready for this!
My surgery (RNY) is on 5/17/16. I wasn't really nervous before, but as the days get closer, the more anxious and nervous I am getting. I know I am in good hands, but it is just such a major change. I've been reading different posts and it is definitely making me feel better. I just wi**** was Tuesday already, haha.
Here are some of my stats:
Highest weight: 325
Current weight: 302
Height: 5' 6"
Thanks in advance to everyone and I'm so glad that I found this forum!!

Welcome Jenna! I also have PCOS and had fertility issues. I was lucky enough to find an RE who would work with me, and I had my son via IVF in 2013 when I was 270lbs. I was type 2 diabetic and had high cholesterol.
I had RNY in August of 2015, just 9 months ago and I have to tell you it changed my life. I'm 43 now, and being Morbidly Obese and the mommy of a toddler is not something that I would wish on my mother or child. I now weigh 169lbs, and my life has completely changed.
You have found the right place to be. This forum is so incredibly supportive and there are bound to be people here who have been through exactly what you've been through. Read the boards, ask questions and participate! We love to have fun. We have a daily menu thread where we post what our eating plan is everyday, and that can give you an idea how your post surgery life will look like at all different stages.
Congrats on making the leap!
Hi Jenna and welcome! I just had my RNY surgery in May 3rd. I was a nervous wreck but everything is going very well and now I know I made the right decision. I have learned so much on OH forums. The veterans here are so helpful! Looking forward to you joining me on the losers bench soon!
