Question about eating

I wonder if you're anemic?? I was slightly anemic when I went in the hospital for my surgery, and the day after I was so sluggish, and the anemia had worsened, so I had to have 2 pts of blood. Once home, I started feeling dizzy and sluggish again, and they started me on Iron. Just a thought. Best of luck!

I took a nap every day after wor****il about 6 weeks. You will be tired. You had major surgery and you are eating less food than you have ever eaten in your life. When I complained to my surgeon about how tired I was, he said, "I told you that you could go back to work, I didn't say you wouldn't be tired." This is all normal. I could barely make it through the grocery store without feeling I was ready to collapse at first. It will get better each and every day (well you might have a few days where you doubt this). Eventually, you will realize, hey I'm not as tired as I was and I am actually feeling kind of energized. Pretty soon you will have a glide in your stride and pep in your step and realize that you feel so much better than before. You are early on. Be patient. It will get better.

Docs recommend different things, but I was told I could eat up tp 5 or 6 times a day. You are taking in so little at this point each time you eat. Also work on fluid intake, that can make you dizzy.

You had a major surgery.. Your body is recovering...plus the limited diet and hydration.
For app 4 weeks post op I did best if I had a short nap in a middle of the day... 20- 45 min the most..

everything you are saying is par for the course to me. I took 6 weeks off work and so glad I did, I was extremely tired, had such a hard time eating and drinking and the exhaustion was off the charts. I literally ddin't start to feel "normal" until I was about 3 months post op and it was only then that I got the whole vitamins, water, eating, waiting to drink and the right about of protein in. I was HARD!!!!
Kelly mentioned it could be low BP, I had that as well. My BP was high pre surgery and I was on a lot of meds, it started dropping right after surgery and the meds were too much, do look into that.
But honestly you are tired, you had MAJOR surgery, you are barely eating and drinking, be kind to yourself, take naps, let your body heal.
Keep coming back here and asking questions so we can help. I think you are doing great, best of luck & rest!!

You definitely want to eat at least 6 small meals a day. Remembering to always get your protein and water in. I know I also
had trouble with dizziness and just about passed out a couple of times. My issue turned out to be low blood pressure. Over the
year prior to my RNY the Dr had doubled the dosage of my BP meds trying to get a handle on it as it kept rising. The issue I had
afterwards was that after my weight starting coming off my blood pressure returned to normal and as a result I was totally taken
off my meds and it stayed in the normal range. Another huge plus right!
If the dizzines persists definitely have the Dr follow up on it to get to the root of the problem.
Good Luck!!! Rich
