Frustrated and feel like I am doing something wrong.
Had my surgery on April 27th and have only lost 5 pounds. I am following the diet plan they gave me but feel like I should be losing more weight then I am. How much weight do people normal lose in the first few weeks? I am frustrated but determine to lose the weight and make life changes.
As long as you stick to your plan, you will lose the weight. Losing rates are a highly individual thing, and some of us lose a lot right off the bat, and some lose in a stair-step fashion. ( lose, stop, lose, stop )
Surgery weights can also have an effect. Losing a lot pre-surgery can translate to a slower loss, and if you have less to lose, you may lose it slower than someone who had a higher starting weight than you.
Just keep plugging away; you'll get there if you stay the course.

I lost the first week after surgery, then lost zero pounds for 3 1/2 weeks. Stick with it, it will happen.

I cried at the one week follow up appt., I had lost nothing and I was scared to death. But now I'm down 51 in a farely Short time I Feel. It still hurts a little when I see others with such super quick results and wish that was me. I only loose a pound at a time, and that's not everyday at all. For me I learned it's a slow steady process and it is working. (No one ever told me that), I also don't have complications which is a blessing. I love my weight loss ticker on here it's a motivator and I have an Excel chart with weigh in dates and a graph, that really shows my progress when I look back from where I started. Best of Luck with Everything!
