Is being nervous after your initial consultation normal?

I was very active on here a a few years back when first starting my journey. I have of course since found that that journey never

ends and it really is a lifetime commitment. I worked the system and achieved incredible success but of course life stepped in over

time in the way of a divorce (nothing to do with WLS) health issues with knee replacements which hindered exercise and just life

in general. My weight right now is not where I'd like it to be and I'm here hoping to make a few good friends and draw ideas, inspiration,

etc to get back on track. Yes reshape (I think anyway) refers to plastics. In going through the options given this seemed to match

best anyway. I want to lose about 25 more pounds before consulting later this summer for skin removal. Another things derailed

by life a few years ago. I also really like to help others with questions in their journey as I have much experience and in doing

this I am helping to keep myself on task as well.  Congrats by the way on moving beyond your goal. I know I ended up 40 pounds

below my original goal. Definitely an incredible feeling.

Keep up the great work. Rich

Depends...if you are nervous because you are going to have to change your life, way of cooking, way of eating, and way of thinking about food forever...then it is good and fine to be nervous. You are "trying to wrap your head around" what you are about to do.

However, if you are nervous because the surgeon or his staff are disorganized, rude, didn't satisfactorily answer your questions in a way you can understand without belittling you, doesn't support his patients (in the first year, I was writing/emailing the surgeons NUT or surigical PA once or twice a week) or has a high complication rate-then I would say it is GOOD to be nervous and RUN from that surgical group.

You need a competent AND SUPPORTIVE surgical/post-op team. You aren't a car and they aren't mechanics. What  you are about to undertake is going to require some help and guidance AFTER surgery and instruction BEFORE surgery.

Only you know what is making you nervous.
