My current weight is 190 lbs. im 5'7", having the RYN n the morning...how much excess skin am I looking at when all this is done? I am having this procedure because I am Type 1 and 2 and 92% insulin resistant and it is damaging my liver. But, this is a last ditch effort because the disease cannot be controlled with traditional measures. Is there exercises you can do to tighten skin? Most of my wt is located in the belly area, but tummy isnt really huge...more bloated after eating than anything. Just not looking forward to skin surgery down the road. thanks, Lori

190lbs and 5'7" isn't very large and if you don't have a large belly that kinda hangs you might not have an issue with extra skin.  It also depends on how old you are.  I carry a lot of my weight in my tummy, but my high weight was 100lbs more than you and I'm only 5'3", so I do have a bit of a tummy pooch.  Plus right now I'm only 20lbs lighter than you.

There is just no way to know what skin issues you are going to have ahead of time. Some people are lucky and don't have it as bad as others. I am convinced that 99% of it is genetics, and no amount of fancy skin cream or exercise will make it better or worse. Just go with it, and be excited that you are saying goodbye to diabetes! A flabby tummy will be well worth it... :)

Yes you did not say how much you want to lose plus as others have said a lot of it is genetics and age. I have lost 60 lbs and see no signs that might indicate the need for plastics down the road. I am  65 yrs old so you may just be lucky.
