Than you hpottker! It's like a hand keeping me above water.  It's so heartening to know I just have to take it slow and it will come. Tough stuff.  But a wonderful group.  Can't wait to be 6 weeks out!!!! :-)  Best of luck to you!

That notorious buyer's remorse is setting in.  I'm finally losing the extra fluid weight from surgery but still 7 lbs over my surgery day weight.  Blood pressure high. I hate the way the whey protein tastes in everything. I'm sad. my family is trying to be supportive but they really don't know what to do.   They don't want to eat real food around me and I tell them to go out, but then I am alone.  They didn't make this decision and I hate foisting this different person on them.  (quiet, moody fragile).  Please tell me it gets better. I realize logically that 1 week out from a major surgery is not long. Give it time. But I am definitely at a low point.  Thank you for your support.

Oh sweetie, I wish I could be there to give you a great big ole hug!  Yes, indeed, it does get better.  Inject as much humor in the situation that you can possibly muster.  Give yourself credit for doing the best you can.  It sounds like you are harder on yourself than your family is.  Go to the window and get out of your space and notice the trees, the birds and nature.  Open a window and breathe in some fresh air.  Do you have a favorite lotion or fragrance?  Put some on even if you're in your jammies and slippers - who cares!  Friend or family member not doing so well?  Shower some attention on them.

You're gonna do just fine!

Dear Sandie- thank you so much for your thoughtful and uplifting response.  I'm just taking it day by day.  Hard to learn patience and enjoying other things around me.  I loved your "hug!"
