How has your experience with Patch vitamins been?
I thought they were the most brilliant invention ever and such a great thing for me as I am the worst pill taker ever! Now the program I belong to in my city has included a warning not to use them as there is no scientific evidence to back them up? Aren't there nicotine patches and hormone patches being used all the time successfully? I don't buy it and would love to hear from anyone who has experience with these patches as I love them and want to rely on them now at my post op stage! One week today post op!
If you search this site for "vitamin patch" you will see posts from several well-respected veterans who have used them with success.
The patches are not perfect, but they do seem to keep most levels up. I hope the people who use them chime in.

I use patches and I hope they work for me.
The only way too know if they work for you - is to try them on YOU.
My endo and gastro docs are both aware of them And their opinion is that it does work for some people and some don't benefit at all... Until you try - you may not know if they work for you.
But - most of us who see severe deficiencies - the starred 1-2 years post op. Some vitamins are stored in the body - and that keeps our blood levels close to OK. Year 2 and after is when the "fun" begins.

I have used them for almost a year and my labs at 6 months out from using them were great.
I have been using them. I love them, because lets face it, I am not the best at taking my pills. I love the convenience of the patch. I am also using the Omega3 now and I will plan to use the Iron patch, since I do have low Iron and can use all I can get.
My suggestion is that if you use them, be diligent in using them and getting follow up labs. That will be the only way to tell. Many people have used them and have great lab results.
Good luck!
I have used them almost since the beginning. I'm about 10.5 months out. My 6 month bloodwork was good. Before surgery I was deficient in a few things (potassium, Vit. D and calcium a bit on low end), after 6 months all of those items were improved and non-deficient any longer. I was a bit low in vitamin A after testing, so I was advised to supplement that. I would say to give it a try for 6 months at least and see how they work for you. I am loving it. In a few months I will be tested again, so we will see what results are then...
