Did they give you anything at the hospital?   They sent me home with a prescription for colace.  I took that at the beginning, then switched to Miralax.  I have it with a cup of tea every evening.  Some people do both, one in the morning and one in the evening.

Yay for day 4!

Protein is very hard to get in the first little while.  Trust me I struggled a lot!  If you need help or suggestions ask us or World According to Eggface website is awesome for post ops!

Keep your liquids up though, as hard as it is you don't want to get dehydrated!

I think by day 4 post op I actually had diarrhea but that quickly went away and before I knew it I was battling with constipation and trust me its horrible.  What did your surgeon's office say about going to the bathroom?  My centre was all over it right after surgery, they had me on Colace and Senekot.  It helped a lot and as soon as I could switch to Miralax I did, that stuff is worth its weight in gold!!

Keep us posted!  You got this!

I didn't poop for like 5 or 6 days after surgery.  it sucked because I felt like I needed to.  i struggled a lot with constipation early on and wish I had been more proactive with it.  If your surgeon allows, i would mix some mirlax in with one of your drinks.  it will help you keep things moving regularly.

Thanks everyone. I did go yesterday morning, so am not worried about it yet but figured it will be an issue. My center said miralax so I will pick some up tomorrow.

What am I wearing today? It's chilly here in Illinois today but sunny so I pulled out a bright yellow cable knot sweater and skinny jeans with brown shooties. I look pretty good too must say! Have food pantry this am so Lily and I will walk after lunch and I will do 30 minutes on the bike at some point. I also have to finish cleaning out the camper at some point today and vacuum it so we're ready for the next trip. Had a great time at Beaver Dam again and walked probably 8 miles a day with Miss Lily. Post op 44 months and weight at 122 today. Here's the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey with cheese 1/2 c tomatoes D 31/2 oz ribeye 1/2 c green beans S mission 1 protein bar. I found another flavor besides brownie and chocolate chip cookie: cookies and cream. I'll try it tonight for sure. Have a great day everyone and make some smart choices!

OK thanks everyone for putting up with my %$%$ mood yesterday. The internet came back on last night and all is well. I even decided to go a month unlimited yoga for May and signed up last night. So yay for that, but that downward dog is the devil and I must build up arm strength. DH'ds finals are today so I'm so happy he and I will get a break.

QOTD: Gap body leggings navy with multi triangles and a Gap body long sleeve green tee. I'm wearing my cushe flip flops.

My fit bit is not attached to them because it is charging upstairs.

B: 1/2 GNC advanced bar/PB banana /decaf orange tea (I'm trying to not do decaf coffee to see if it helps the ulcer). So far so good.

S: 1/2 GNC advanced bar

L: chicken salad

D: not sure -

S: not sure but need to not eat yasso bars anymore.... They are so good but a bit high on the sugar for my liking.

Of-, for the sports illiterate-- what an RBI? I assume it s a good thing LOL. Whoa on your hubby's hand-- I wouldn't have paid much attention to the complaining either...men have that tendency to make mountains out of mole hills. Just play the super supportive, nurse-mate today :-)

QOTD- I'm wearing a black knee length flare skirt, off-white- sleeveless top with black trim & gold buttons, and a black shrug type sweater. I had an NSV today- its too chilly to go w/o something on my legs and all I had at home were opaque tights- i wanted sheer pantyhose. normally i would have to drive across town to the only plus size store that sold tights in my size. today i was able to run into CVS and pick up a pack. No more planning my outfits around when I can get to the plus size store that sells + size pantyhose! (and crap!!! that JUST ran...grrrr!!)

Shameless confession: I made a recipe on Sunday for my son that called for Corn Flakes. I haven't have corn flakes since I was a kid- and was actually sick to death of them cause that was the only cereal my Dad would ever buy. Well, I got a desire to try and bowl and was hooked on them for like 3 days. Only thing is my new system doesn't like them-- I could have been arrested for trying to gas out my family LMAO.  No more corn flakes for me!
