What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
First words out of my son's mouth this morning: "Mom, I need rosary pliers for school today." First of all, Good Morning, Michael. Second, WTH are rosary pliers? Third, where do you expect me to get them before 7 am? This sounds like a job for my husband.
Yesterday morning I could NOT login to OH so after like an hour I just gave up. I did check in during the afternoon, tough, and the QOTD was freaking hilarious. Most of my stupid stuff involved booze and the resultant questionable decisions. "Nuff said. LOL
KQOTD! Since we are in kind of a holiday dead zone until July 4, tell me about your most favorite holiday traditions. It can be any holiday. ahem For me, Thanksgiving morning always starts with the parade on TV and mimosas while the pumpkin pie bakes. This was something I did with my Mom back in the day and I carry on the tradition! Last year we weren't home for T'giving and I was super pissed I couldn't do my regular routine. LMAO And on NYE, we have the Brennan Family Board Game Throw Down. We eat early, put our happy clothes on and talk trash over Ticket to Ride and Battleship and whatever else we feel like playing.

Good morning, gang. I finally got a good night's sleep last night and feel moderately ready to take on today... I am giving a huge, important, presentation to the whole staff at 9am this morning but also have meetings at: 8am, 11:15am, 12pm, 2pm & 3:30pm. Seriously. But thankfully I could take the train and get a little relaxing in before and after.
I finally went to the grocery store lat night and got a fully stocked fridge and pantry for the first time in ages. I bought way too much and 70% will probably be thrown away, eventually (which I hate!) but for once it's nice to open up the fridge and see some choices!
B: Fit Frappe Mocha (x2)
S: Noosa Blueberry Greek Yogurt
L: Chicken Caesar Salad
S: Sargento Balanced Break (pepper jack)
D: Parmesan crusted cod
Exercise: Squeezed in a quick 20 minutes on the elliptical this morning, because clearly I will not be moving at all at work today :(

Nah, I feel you. My husband went to the store last night on the way home from work and I was so mad. He got a bunch of stuff that we wouldn't normally eat, didn't get dog food or any paper products, AND he went to a store that's like 1/3 more expensive than where I usually go. He didn't do it right, AT ALL.
I think they screw up on purpose. I have learned two things through the years about my husband. If he goes to the store, we end up with random, unnecessary things that we will never use (because it is an adventure and he sees all of these new shiny things). And, when I left him with the kids when they were young, as long as the house was still standing and the kids were alive, then he had done his job.

Sorry, was too busy to tackle that while I texted under the table during meeting #1 today...
All holidays have followed the exact same formula for the last 40 years. 4 families get together--same food (potluck style) brought by the same people. After eating and talking politics and enjoying each other's company, we go on a "forced march"--a 3 mile hike through the woods. Then...dessert! After dessert we tackle the dishes and then settle in to argue over what movie we'll watch... :)
After 40 years of that, randomly we all split up to different regions of the US and now tradition is broken. I was! straight up depressed on Easter. And I think I'm going to have to go to DC for Thanksgiving!
