I think I am one of the 'vets' who have said things you didn't want to hear. I did because I care! I have followed your journey and I have way of 'feeling' for lack of a better word. Feeling people. I knew you were unhappy, now I know why. You have my full support on this new way of life. Sober, God bless you sweet lady. You got this

Congrats on your 41 days. I was in OA for awhile and had some success but left it for reasons. However, I recognize I have compulsive tendencies towards food and I hope I can be as brave as you've been in battling them.

Hi Susan, first off thank you for being so brave and open and honest with us and with yourself.  I can only imagine how incredibly hard it was to first admit this to yourself and to us your OH family, you deserve major kudos for that.

Congrats on your 41 days sober, that is wonderful.  I am trilled that you are going to AA and that you have met wonderful supportive people there.

Just for the record I love you even more now for your courage, honesty and strength, admitting this to yourself and to your OH peers took some serious guts, so again thank you for sharing this with us.

If I can ever be of any help, you tell me okay.  And don't think for one second you are alone, we all have our own demons, addictions and problems, I am no stranger to the shame that you speak of, I carry a lot of it too due to the skeletons in my past and its hard and it hurts and its depressing but you are proving how strong you are by taking those first steps, I could not be more proud of you.

If I can ever help out in any way, just say so.

Love ya beautiful,

Daisy xoxo

Thank you for sharing your story. It is an important one and you may have helped a lot of people. It has certainly got me thinking about how much I consume. I need to find another way to deal with pain beside wanting to escape it.

Congratulations on 41 days.  You are a superstar for knowing that you are an alcoholic and are doing it one day at a time.

Cheers,

Jaq

Don't look back, you're not going that way.

Damn...that is so awesome. Tearing up a little here. My brother is an alcoholic, something that is extremely obvious to everyone but him. He's destroying himself. I would give anything to have him just even recognize that and begin to get better. So proud of you.
