What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning! This is week is going fast. Probably because work is crazy busy and isn't likely to calm down for a couple of months. Ugh...
Anyway, yesterday I went to my surgeon's office to get the pain in my abdomen checked out again (he ruled out a hernia with a CAT in January). Within 2 min he said he does think it's a small hernia and I need surgery. I'm scheduled for this FRIDAY! Seriously, when does that happen? It's an outpatient surgery so I'll only miss 1 day of work, 1 week of training, and I need to stay out of the pool for 2-3 weeks. He said by 3-4 weeks I should be able to be full throttle again. Thank goodness, my first race of the season may be a no go but everything else should be just fine :)
QOTD: I bought Panera bagels and cream cheese to bring to work in honor of my one year anniversary here. I also bought an iced coffee :)
Time since surgery: 21+ months
B: Bagel and schmear (I'm being bad) and iced coffee with cream
S: More coffee
L: LC Sesame Chicken (although I never eat all the noodles)
S: Iced coffee with cream and almonds
D: tuna fish on white bread
W/V: Started
E: I'm going to try to get in a long ride tonight (last one for a week or two )
Totals: Calories 1384, Protein 55, Carbs 176 , Fat 52
(I'm counting the whole bagel but I haven't been able to eat a whole one before)
Oh, I'm so glad they're going to repair the hernia and give you some relief, even if it means missing some training time.
And I am LOLing at "schmear". LOVE that word.
I think it's great you are right on top of the hernia. I see some people that it takes forever before their docs diagnose and fix issues like this. You'll be better than new before you know it.

Nothing Tastes as Good as Healthy Feels!
Good morning,
The sun is shining and I finally had a good nights sleep this week and today is my 1 year surgiversary! While I have not met my personal ewight loss goal, I have lost more than a third of my body weight I am a totally different person than I was a year ago. My A1C is down to 6.2, I only take 1 500 mg of metformin to keep it low, and an inhaler for my allergy induced asthma. No cholesterol meds, no bp meds, no acid reflux meds. I work out every day and am stronger than I have been since my 30's. I have so much more energy and am more confident than I have felt in a long time.
AV I can't wait to see pics of your new pixie. Love Kaley Cuoco's pixie cut. So cute.
QOTD: My last purchase was not for me, took clothes shopping on Saturday, spent a lot!
I will have hubby take a pic tonight and compare to one year ago pic and will try to post the darn things on here tomorrow.
