"You're getting too skinny" and other comments

I have read other members experiences with this and have been ready with responses like "I am following my surgeons plan", "I didn't have surgery to still be considered overweight" etc. But what I didn't know is how this can start to worm into your head.

It has me feeling a little uncertain. Right now my BMI is at 29 something. I am overweight. I've lost 75% of my excess weight and want to see 100% and then decide from there where I want to see myself...where I am happiest.

I don't want to hear every time I go somewhere - you are getting too skinny, you should stop now and other things.

It's so strange to be in this space...a year ago I was embarrassed to go out in public and worrying if my spring clothes would fit.

Laura's right...the people you know will forget in time...the new people you meet will never know...weird that those new people will sometimes make comments though like "but you and your skinny self would never understand"...lol

What Laura said. Take it as a misguided compliment, and keep doing what you're doing.

I got too skinny for about a year and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Don't let people bother you.

As we are losing weight - we may look smaller than we are. Skin gets bit more wrinkly... The clothes don't fit - just hangs... Plus people are used to us bigger...

Just smile, nod, and walk away...
