Re-occurring Yeast Infections

I had my surgery in 2004 and it seems that I have had a re-occurring Yeast Infections since then. I recently just put two and two together and wonder if anyone else had experienced  this problem. Or better yet... been able to stop the repeat appearance?

I tired all the Rx prescriptions which works for a while, but 2 to 3 months later it returns. I just read that sugar, stress and carbs will increase Candida which is yeast in the body... any suggestions?

Oh... I can stand to remove sugar (although, its hard) because I've regained 40lbs

Your doctor can prescribe a pill that will kill all yeast in your body.  One pill will do it.

As far as I know - once Candida sets in your body, your gut - it is close to impossible to get rid of completely.

But it can be controlled.  Low sugar - low carbs diet,  probiotics, and the RX for Candida.

I know that not only my sugar cravings, but also my allergies get worse as the Candida gets stronger.  Once every 2-3 months, with doc approval I take Rx pills (typically 2 - 3 days apart) to help with that. We call it maintnace.

And I had tests done that confirmed my intestine Candida.

I also use the Rx with, after, antibiotic treatment.

But giving up sugar is a must. Sugar feeds yeast.

In addition to everything said above, go to whole foods and buy Bio-K  (in the cold area of the supplement section)  it is a highly fermented drink with billions of active cultures. they come in small  little containers. mix it into a smoothie if you cant drink it alone.

Its $30.00 and i think its 12 to 14 doses, but it should help get your digestive system loaded with the right bacteria.

My theory- and i am not a scientist - is that people are prone to yeast and bowel issues after surgery b/c of the imbalance of natural flora.

  1. we do a bowel cleanse before surgery
  2. we get heaps of antibiotics during surgery
  3. we are on clear fluids or liquids for weeks-
  4. we do nothing to bring the natural gut flora back
  5. we have

My theory only- but i think it explains why people are sensitive to lactose, sugars, and other foods, and may have diarrhea more than they did before.

just a theory- i took it within a day of surgery and have had no gut /bowel problems at all

is it vaginal? If so, then your partner, if male, an if u have one, could be carrying yeast in his penis and reinfect info you every time you have sex. Make sure he is treated and you won't have any more problems.
