Good Morning!

AV - thank you for sharing, what a wonderful friend you had. Sounds like he made a strong impact on his community, and what a legacy to leave!

The whether was crappy this weekend, we did nothing on Saturday, and it was fantastic! Stayed in our "comfy clothes", played, and watched movies. Sometimes you just really need a day like that to recharge.

I have a few favorite children's books - my all time favorite is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, closely followed by Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, and Where the Sidewalk Ends. I still get a lot of enjoyment reading these with/to my kids.

Good morning gang! Thanks for sharing a little of Mark's story AV. Saving 2 lives is a huge, huge deal. I hope it helps soothe a little of the pain all his loved ones are feeling.

I don't know how, but I've dropped over 2 pounds in the last week that I didn't want to. I'm going to put extra bacon on stuff this week. But I have no specific idea what I'm eating today.

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning AV, you have my condolences again about your friend. I went to a funeral last year for an old childhood friend. It was a sad time, since he actually committed suicide on Mother's Day, but it was still nice to see all the old friends.

I was on vacation last week so I didn't get no here much. The first three days were spent at home with my kids, and I was reasonable with my food intake. Then we went to an indoor water park and **** got crazy! I had 1/2 a bagel with cream cheese, a couple bites of donuts, a chocolate dipped pretzel rod... etc. I mean, I was eating at least 2000 calories a day, easy. This was for Thursday and Friday. Once we were home I attempted to scale back, and while my calories dropped, the carb monster got a hold of me, so I wasn't great on Saturday and yesterday I was better, but not perfect.

Today, I'm back to work and ready to get back to basics. I packed a great menu, and I'm feeling good about getting back on track. My weight has fluctuated up and down, and I suspect that my fluid intake is a bit low. Despite taking colace every night for the last 5 days I'm not having any luck with a good bowel movement. Though it could be from the vacation, I have a history of severe constipation when travelling.

QOTD: I don't remember any specific books from when I was really young, honestly I think I have blocked out a lot of my early childhood and don't have very many specific memories before age 8 or 9. I do remember reading all of the Ramona books, as well as Judy Blumes books. When I was in Middle School my teacher gave me a box of Harlequin Romance, so I spent a few months at the age of 12 reading soft core porn, lol. I read all of VC Andrews books as a tween (talk about twisted reading for a kid) and moved on to Stephen King, John Saul and Dean Koontz not long after. I do have a book that I got from my aunt when I was young, it was a collection of short stories by John Steinbeck. I devoured them. My mom and both my brothers are avid readers, so as I got older we would pass around the books that we got. I also loved poetry and remember reading Lord Byron as a young tween. I think back on it and still remember how the poem She Walks in Beauty made me feel at 12 years old. Just thinking about it makes me feel all fuzzy inside. Thanks for the nostalgia.

So, on to my food for the day.

8 months since surgery

B: 1egg, 1 slice velveeta, 1 bacon. Coffee with cream and FF half and half at home and a coffee with cream and splenda here at work

L: 2oz shredded pork, 1/2oz mozzarella cheese, 2tbsp salsa with 1/2 a low calorie tortilla

D: 5oz shrimp with ****tail sauce made with Reduced sugar ketchup

S: cottage cheese with fresh strawberries.

Totals:

Calories 814 Protein 96 Carbs 34 fat 34

Have a great day everyone!

I remember them,  they are quite twisted,  lol. I liked the Heaven Series better than the Flowers in the Attic series.

I liked VC Andrews too!

Are you making homemade ****tail sauce now? If so, is it "share worthy?"

My favorite kind is Private Selection (Kroger brand) premium. It is YUM.
