Morning JB! I'm so ready to be done with vacation. I was great the first part of the week, but Thursday and Friday were a complete bust for my food intake and yesterday, while I did much better, I had a hard time kicking the carb cravings that followed my indiscretions. So today I've been good, and I'm excited to get back to the office tomorrow so I have a schedule and can stick to plan.
This morning I did have protein oatmeal, just old fashioned oats with half a scoop of protein powder mixed in. It was just okay, I don't think I'll feel the need to try that again. Carbs are too high to justify eating it all of the time.
so the answer to the QOTD: I am a Taurus. My birthday is on the Cusp of Aries and Taurus, and while sometimes I am considered an Aries, I definitely have more of the stubborn Taurus traits. My birthday is in 10 days!
8 months post op:
B: protein oatmeal with a scoop of vanilla protein powder. I split 1 serving with my kiddo (I had 3/4 and he had 1/4) I only ate 1/2 of what i gave myself. It was really filling in my pouch.
L: left over sirloin steak with peppers, onions and salsa verde in a low calorie tortilla.
D: pork butt roast in the slow cooker, my house smells delicious! steamed broccoli
S: carb master yogurt, Quest protein shake made with usweetened almond milk, and maybe some shrimp with homemade ****tail sauce made with reduced sugar ketchup

QOTD: I always schedule my appointment for the second week of February. This year we owed $2 on Fed, and received a State refund. I even paid the $2 early because I didn't want to have to remember to pay. But if we do owe, we like to know the amount early on so we can plan for it and then pay at the last minute in April.
Weekends are always the toughest to stay on track due to the lack of routine. Despite all that and the fact that we ate out every meal, I feel pretty good about how things went. Had a nice dinner out with husband and daughter last night, and she wanted to share a meal with me, which works out great because I split the protein with her and she eats the sides. Today I went out with friends to lunch and a play and one of them asked if I wanted to split something with her. Tonight my husband and I went out and I ordered a shrimp and scallop skewer and salad. So, I managed to stay very protein focused, but looking forward to the routine of the week.
Have a good week and good luck to all the last minute people on getting taxes filed by the due date.
