Haha, I could have written this, exactly. My 2 kitties have me well trained. It's actually ridiculous!

I can't get enough of those puppy eyes. They are the cutest!
Hi Everyone!
My menu is up in the air. I'm still adjusting to my new soft diet. Yesterday we drove to a nearby town to adopt a dog from a shelter. We got a burger at a drive-thru and I only ate half of it without the bun, but I still had to pull over and puke it up on the way home. I think I'll stick to my critter diet and the pureed stuff, (cottage cheese, protein shake, eggs, etc.) that was working before.
QOTD: I'm a Gemini, June 14th, with Moon in Virgo, Venus in Cancer and Mars in Pisces. (How's that for a comprehensive answer! LOL).
Yes, we adopted a new dog yesterday!!! Her shelter name is Blossom so we're going to call her Honey Blossom. She's a Golden Retriever mix. She's about a year old and very sweet! Our Chihuahua, Tippy seems to get along well with her. She's scheduled to be spayed on Wednesday so we had to leave her there until next weekend. I can hardly wait until next weekend when we can go pick her up! Here's a picture of her.

YAY Karen, Honey Blossom is gorgeous!!! Congrats to you and the family!! Hope this next week flies by for you!!
Karen a hamburger is not a "soft diet"food. Sorry hamburger (as in a burger) is a dense protein in my books. Soft foods would be soft. I think you are trying to advance too fast. Yes the soft diet is boring as hell, but you really need to treat your newly operated insides with love and care. I like to think of our newly operated on stomach and intestines like this: if you cut yourself really bad & deeply and needed stitches, and the doctor said keep these bandages on for two weeks then you can take it off and make sure you keep it out of water. Would you disregard those instructions and take the bandages off early and start washing dishes and risk infection and major scaring? Don't advance your diet faster than you are supposed to. Especially don't eat off plan when you are out on the road, at restaurants, at a friends house. Throwing up is horrible. You can avoid this by eating your soft food plan diet. You have the rest of your new healthy life to eat burgers and steaks and all those yummy foods, now is the time to take care of yourself and you insides. Just some tough love okay Karen. I really want you to be successful and now is the time to start off on the right foot. Oh and not sure if your centre said a burger is okay on the soft food plan, even if they did clearly your pouch is not ready for it.
You know I am here to support you and guide you. So next weekend when you make the drive to pick up Honey Blossom please prepare and have 'soft foods' handy in your purse. Make a small cooler and put in cheese strings, yogurt, cottage cheese and hard boiled eggs.
You got this!!

Hi Kakesie!
You're a week behind me and I still struggle with solid foods, too. I had a hiatal hernia repair and my doc told me no solid foods for 8 weeks. (He JUST told me this though, at my 7 week appointment, when all the literature said I could start solids) I couldn't figure out why I was throwing up almost every time I ate them. I do so much better on soft foods though, I just stick to them now. I can't wait to eat a bite of steak again!
