What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning! My menu is very up in the air today, the boyfriend wants me to make waffles for brekky and chicken enchiladas for dinner, neither of which I will be indulging in. I too, have a ton of leftovers of my own, chicken with basil, soup from last night, etc, so I will probably make do with those. My "two bites and I'm done with my meal" has resulted in a lot of take out containers in my fridge. I'm going to start getting serious about the exercise part of my program, my scale hasn't moved much in a week and I know it's not because of the amount or what I'm eating.

Yes--I've been eating out a lot lately for various meet-ups and events and I have so much in the fridge that I don't even know why I take home the leftovers anymore.
Chicken enchiladas sound yummy! Can you just eat the middle and stay on track?
Hi JB!
Boyfriend eats a version of chicken enchiladas (his mother's recipe) and it's a travesty to even call them enchiladas. It's more like chicken casserole wrapped in flour tortillas. I was born and raised in Southern California, and I love a great enchilada, this is not it, though. They're really weird. I could eat the filling and probably be OK, but I don't like them well enough to waste the calories on them. But a real, shredded chicken enchilada with spicy sauce and refried beans?? Oh yes!

Morning JB and weekend menu gang! Oh lazy Saturday's, MY FAVOURITE! So glad you are enjoying yours, that's what they are for!
I am a Gemini (June 18), I have been told that I fit the "criteria" of a Gemini perfectly, I still after all these years can't decided if I am a "true Gemini" or not.
As per Google this is the Gemini personality traits: Expressive and quick-witted, Gemini represents two different sides of personality and you will never be sure with whom you will face. Gemini can be sociable, communicative and ready for fun, while on the other hand it can be very serious, thoughtful, restless and even indecisive.
Your plans sounds awesome, hope you & Grim and friend have a great time. You are funny, "some kind of meat based dinner?" that cracked me up, well if Grim is there I guess that's a yes LOL LOL
Just having some brunch and then headed out to hike the dogs and then have to get a few groceries, we are going over to a friends house tonight for dinner, I have been asked to "bring dessert", so bringing a fruit tray and some assorted goodies (cupcakes, macaroons, cookies). I might indulge in something, but since sweets were my downfall pre surgery I try to avoid them like the plague as I fear it will be a slippery slope for me!
Its super cold here, 20F and sunny. So the hike with the dogs will be a brisk one! I played hide & go seek with them this morning, yes really with my dogs. My hubby makes them stay in the kitchen and I run upstairs and hide in one of the spare rooms, they have to find me and if they do they get a "liver-licious" cookie! Here they are with their "reward"! LOL LOL LOL LOL
Like you JB, I will be out and about so my menu it totally all over the place.
B: coffee x 2 with splenda and lactose free milk and 10 shrimp + ****tail sauce
L: probably a can of tuna over chopped bell pepper and balsamic dressing if at home or a Pastrami sandwich (no bread) lots of mustard if we are out on the road still doing errands
S: Kind Bar (chocolate peanut butter + protein)
D: at my friends house, she said she is ordering in Chinese, so will stick with chicken & veggies and beef and veggies and maybe a cookie or macaroon, but not sure
S: Activia Vanilla yogurt when I get home later tonight with some bran buds mixed in
No totals, menu is up in the air!
V/W: vits are done, calcium is on alarms, lots of coffee and tea and water with a splash of cranberry juice
E: taking the dogs out for a 5km hike
Happy Saturday everyone, have a relaxed and restful day!

Hi Daisy,
I love, love, LOVE that you play Hide & Seek with your dogs! What fun!!! I used to hide candy Easter eggs (not chocolate!) for my two lab mixes on Easter. One would seek them out by sight and the other would hunt them out by scent. I only did that on Easter and only a few eggs because I'm sure the candy wasn't good for them, but they had such a good time hunting the eggs and it was so fun to watch them.

Thanks Karen. As you know I don't have kids I have "fur kids" so my two Labs are my fun, I play with them all the time. Great fun for your lab mixes to find the Easter eggs! I also make homemade sweet potato chews for the dogs and homemade banana oatmeal cookies!
What would we do without our pets right!
