Anyone take Astelin nasal spray after RnY?
I had my RnY in 2008. I've recently (in the last 2 months) begun having some GI symptoms which are best described as "sour" stomach (I suspect an ulcer). I'm trying to figure this out so when I go to the doc this week, I can give him something to go on. I'm having a hard time keeping hydrated because eating or drinking anything gives me distress.
Here's the basis of my thread title. In the last 2 months, I've begun taking Astelin nasal spray for allergies. When I use the spray, ultimately some of it ends up going down my esophagus and into my stomach. I wonder if perhaps this is irritating my GI tract?
Does anyone else use Astelin nasal spray after RnY? Have you had any problems?

I don't use this, but some nasal preparations tear my sleeve up.
I suggest stopping it for a day or two and if the problem goes away, then you will know.
Thanks a lot, HollyKim. I'm going to do just that today and see if it improves.
Please note EVERYONE...one should NEVER stop taking a medication (or alter dosage, etc.) without consulting your doctor first. I've thoroughly researched my decision to stop taking this nasal spray, there are no complications listed, and I see my doctor on Monday.

I used to use Astelin, and now use over-the-counter Nasocort. That being said My Allergist told me most people use nasal sprays wrong. He says to put your chin to your chest and then shoot the spray toward your ears. That may help prevent it from going down your throat...
