Possible Petersen Hernia or Gallbladder? 20 weeks pregnant

I am hoping someone can help me. I am almost 2 years post RNY and 20 weeks pregnant. The past two nights I have been awoken by horrible abdominal pain that felt like awful gas pains - directly underneath my mid rib cage area and radiating towards my back. The pain subsides after about an hour and half. After doing some googling, I'm terrified that I could have a hernia and at this point I am hoping it's my gallbladder (I had issues with my gallbladder during my first pregnancy and never had it removed). I recently moved to a new state so I am not under the supervision of my bariatric surgeon or any bariatric surgeon for that matter. I'm just being monitored by my OBGYN. The pain has been so bad that I've contemplated going to the ER.

Has anyone dealt with this? What was your experience and what would your advice to me be? I'm so scared of needing surgery and it affecting my otherwise healthy pregnancy.

I'm not sure what it could be, but I think it is best to contact your OB and if the pain is really bad go to the ER. I've never had a hernia, but have had a gallbladder attack and it is very painful.

((hugs)) to you...I know it is scary to be going through this while pregnant.

Anytime you have severe pain and especially pg you need to see a dr. Your symptoms mimic my gallbladder attacks exactly. My mom had hers out when she was expecting. Best advice , see a dr. Wishing you all the best . I have to add I have had 3 hernia repairs and no symptoms like that

I'm hoping that you've contacted either your OB and/or the ER by now, have a better understanding about what's going on, and are on your way to having this treated.

I think it's important that we all remember that after our WLS surgeon had done his/her thing and we've recovered from the surgery, 99.9% of our health issues will be dealt with by other health care providers. If you're anything like me, though, you adore your WLS doc and anything to do with our GI tract, we automatically think we need to contact our WLS doc. I'm not saying this as a reprimand, Casey, just an observation that I've been dealing with recently.

Please let us know when you find out the source of your pain.

Thank you so much for the replies. I am currently in the hospila and have found out I've got a rather large gallstone that is likely causing the pain. I will more than likely have it removed today. Thank you so much, again.
