Saying Thanks
Good morning everyone! I just wanted to reach out and say thanks to all of you guys at OH. I have been visiting almost daily since December and your advice and encouragement has been invaluable. I have my 5th (of 6) nutrition visit today with the last one scheduled for May 2nd. I have completed all other steps with the exception of the hospital tests (bloodwork, ekg, chest x-ray) that had to wait until this month. This site has answered so many questions and let me know what to expect every step of the way. Thanks again to you all!
If anyone is in the Chesapeake VA area I would love to connect on here. I expect to have RNY with Dr. Glen Moore at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

Sorry I don't live anywhere near you (I am in Canada) LOL LOL but maybe someone else here does.
You are welcome to join us on the daily menu forum, we do have lots of menu posters who are at all different points of their journey. We have a regular who has been posting for months and she is pre surgery and is doing great, its a fabulous habit to get into posting your menu, using MyFitnessPal and staying accountable.
Don't hesitate to ask questions if you need support or guidance.
All the best!

Hi Daisy,
I have seen the daily menu posts and didn't realize that you could post pre-surgery. I am having my surgery May 3rd and am starting my 9 day liquid diet on the 24th. Do you try to get a certain amount of calories in per day or just focus on the grams of protein. I know that I am suppose to get in between 60-70 grams of protein post surgery.

Thank you. I do use MyFitnessPal and I love it. I am hoping, if all goes well, that my surgery will be end of May or beginning of June. :-)

Welcome! It sounds like you will be having surgery soon. OH helps me so much every day to be accountable and make smart food choices. I am 31/2 years post op and post just about every day on the what's on your menu post. My heaviest weight was 272 and I lost 150 pounds. I weigh about 120 now and have been this weight for nearly 3 years. My RNY was the best decision I have ever made. I am 56 years old and feel better than I did at 26! I'm no longer diabetic or a heart attack waiting to happen! My cardiologist is ecstatic! I've had no regain so far but I measure my food and track. I also weigh every morning because I want no surprises. Welcome!
I want to wish you the best of luck on your upcoming surgery. I have also learned so much on OH in just the short time I have been here and still have so much more to learn. I know I am having difficulty learning to journal my food but I know I will get there. Anyway, I just wanted to wish you much luck on your journey.
