What's on Your (photo) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Angry Viking, there's no shame whatsoever in being proud of the way you look, no matter what the cir****tances are.
I have some pictures of myself as a child I'll dig up before next week, during my "thin days", aka "before I was 5 years old".
It hasn't been a good week for me, crazy at work, I'm ready to replace the boyfriend with a dog, just a lot of emotions so I haven't been taking very good care of myself. I'm not eating off my plan, I'm just not eating. Thank goodness for my great psychiatrist that I get to go see today, so I can cry to him for an hour. Also, all this talk of steaks this week had made me want to go out and get one, so I'll probably do that tonight.
B: Chicken Soup (isn't that what everyone eats for breakfast...)
L: Hamburger Patty
S: Fat Free Greek Yogurt or Hard Boiled Egg
D: Steak

Hey Glitter,
Looking forward to your pic next Friday! Sorry you are on the emotional roller-coaster! It happens post op to all of us, the hormone dump, makes us women even more emotional than we normally are right! LOL But know that its a "thing" post op. Glad you are staying on plan and not letting stress and emptions guide your eating, that's really awesome! Glad you are seeing your therapist, that's what they are there for to help, so good job!
Nothing wrong with chicken soup for breakfast! I eat shrimp, tuna, left over chicken, steak all that for breakfast, so seems normal to me!
Just wanted to say be careful with the steak, two months post op I know for sure I had not tried steak yet, not even sure I had even tried chicken yet. Make sure its super moist and you chew chew chew. I would even go so far as say make sure you are at home in case it does not agree with you. I hope it goes awesome, I am sure all the talk of steak and our All meat all week challenge has got you craving it, just be careful, I think chicken & steak are two of the hardest ones to get through post op! Fingers crossed for you!
Have a great weekend!
Daisy,
You are the sweetest! As far as the steak goes, I'll probably end up chewing it up and spitting it out... I'm all talk and I'm really tired of throwing up my meals - it sounds so good though. I keep trying chicken and haven't had great luck with it, I'm sure steak will be right about the same. I go with the greatest intentions and always end up eating soup...LOL.
I'm glad the hormone dump is normal, because I can't figure out WHAT is wrong with me, I'm 1/3 of the way to my goal weight, I should be ecstatic. WRONG. I'm an emotional disaster right now, crying all the time.
You have a great weekend, too!!
do you think the throwing up hurts the pouch? i mean i know the stomach is strong- i think its muscle fibres. i just wonder. when i had the band i threw up alot. you wouldnt even know you were going to- b/c somedays it was tighter and some days looser. so you could eat teh right portion and still end up with something stuck.
my esophagus was hurt- more from the band than the throwing up. just curious.
