What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?

Glad your going to get scoped. I had numerous barium swallows that showed that the barium was extremely slow moving out of my esophagus. My surgeon even wanted me to eat a marshmallow and watch how it went down but when the radiologist saw that the barium was just sitting there he refused to do the marshmallow test. I then went again for another egd which finally showed I had severe stricture right above my pouch.
I had been throwing up for the last 2 years some weeks I would throw up everything I ate then I might go weeks without throwing up at all. It was very bizarre. Once they diagnosed the stricture my surgeon wanted me to be dilated once a month for four months. I have had 3 dilations so far. When I had my 3rd one the other day my GI doctor told me she wasn't going to do the 4th dilation. I had already started to close up since the 2nd dilation. She said that I would definitely start to close up again and we would just dilated as needed. She told me not to wait until I start throwing up but when I feel it backing up in my throat to call. I will have to deal with this the rest of my life...joy!
I was still stoned from the meds and forgot to ask about a stent. I would rather have a stent placed then keep having to have egd with dilation done the rest of my life.

I hear you Melissa!
My nut wants me to have more carbs and more calories all the time too, but when I do eat more carbs I gain weight back, it's happened too many times. For the last 4 months I have floated back and forth between the same 5 or 6 lbs. That's why meat week was such a success for me, I had 20 or less grams of carbs and actually lost weight. Of course I have added a few more carbs back in and yes I am up 1-1/2 lbs since last week.
I'm frustrated because I have not lost more weight than I have, I definitely can blame myself for some of it. The holidays were a bit rough for me, I definitely overindulged; but even at the beginning after surgery I was a slow loser, then I had the hernia issue, then my back went out on me, both of those things slowed me down quite a bit as I could not do much physically for quite some time. Now, I do workout for at least 30 minutes every day, I rarely ever miss a day, and feel crappy when I do.
I'm glad you are having the endoscopy, it will be good to find out why you are having such a difficult time with eating meats.

Yeah the dietitian and the NP told me to eat peanut butter and MORE nuts etc to up my calories. WWWHHHHYYY would they tell someone with an "eating disorder" this. I told them that would be a slippery slope for me to go back to bad habits.
They were having NONE of that and said that people *****gain their weight don't work out and eat whatever they want all the time. Well adding in calories and indulgences could start me on that path! SHUT UP! ugh
