One Step Closer

I had my visit with the surgeon before he submits it to the insurance for approval.  The office said my insurance company is pretty quick at getting the response back - usually within a week.  The down side is my surgeon is already booking surgeries in June and they won't schedule a surgery date until they have the approval.  I really didn't think it would take nearly a year from the time of my first seminar, but I guess I really shouldn't be surprised from reading all the posts.   Another concern is the type of surgery...the plan is for RNY, but since I've had multiple pelvic surgeries in the past 30 years he's looking at the possibility of a lot of scar tissue.  He won't know until he's actually doing surgery but he alerted me to the possibility that he may need to convert to VSG.  I know both are very effective WLS surgeries, but we both feel the RNY is best for me.   I'm trying to think all positive thoughts so I'm looking forward to a smoothe uncomplicated surgery and having some recovery time off in the summer which is my favorite season of the year.  Hopefully I'll be joining you all on the losers bench some time in June.  Wish me positive thoughts please.

Best of luck, sounds like you are in good hands with your surgeon and he will choose what is best for you!  June will be here before you know it, next week is mid April, time will fly.  Fingers crossed for you, do keep us updated on your progress!
