Hey all. I had my surgery August 2013. My LW so far was 191. I haven't counted calories or tracked anything in about a year. I had a baby and was breastfeeding him, now that he's a year old and almost weaned, im trying to get back on track. The nursing seemed to keep the weight off and at bay but now that we are almost done I really want to focus on getting down to 170/175. I'd just like to know I am headed in the right direction. So far my Calories are between 900-1100, carbs under 100 and protein has been between 110-120. Does it seem like I am headed in the right direction?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Headed in the right direction, but you might need some tweaking to see a decent loss. You may need to experiment with fine tuning your calories to optimize losing the weight. Some of us have a small window of calories between losing vs maintaining weight vs gaining.

I'd keep my carbs below 30, to be completely honest. I'd focus solely on lean, dense proteins and non-starchy veggies if you have room. but there's nothing wrong with having just protein. Make sure you portion out your food properly. I'm a little further out than you and could probably eat 8 oz ( by weight ) of dense protein if I let myself. When we get to be a couple of years out and beyond, we can eat more than we could at 6 months-a year out and our portion sizes tend to creep up as the years pass if we don't stick with measuring out and/or weighing portions.

Make sure you get plenty of hydrating fluids too. I average 90 oz of water or iced tea a day.

Good luck and congrats on the little guy!
