What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?

Good morning.  I always feel guilty typing this, especially since I'm looking at AV's "air hurts my face" picture, but it's going to be pushing 90 today and tomorrow.  Then a storm is rolling in and it looks like I'll be running a 1/2 marathon in the rain.  Fun!  Hope all of you in the East thaw out soon.  KQOTD - ohhhh, so many to choose from.  I guess my all time favorite sammie would be grilled cheese . . . but on good bread and with good cheese.  My second choice would be any of the sandwiches from Mendocino Farms, a sandwich/salad place in LA.  They have a pulled chicken with tomato, basil and mozzarella that is delish!  It was my go to before surgery.  I haven't had a piece of bread since surgery cause I love me a sandwich and I don't know if I could stay away once I break that seal.

Here's my plan:

B: Ground turkey, pesto and 1oz cheddar cheese

L: Roasted Chicken Breast

D: Chicken fajitas, a bit of avocado and cheese, maybe a few black beans

S: Iced skinny vanilla latte; light and fit and I brought 2 slices of deli ham and a piece of vermont cheddar cheese if I need to supplement

E: Kickboxing tonight.

Totals: Cal: 1026; Protein: 124g (including the ham and cheese snack); Fat: 37g; Carbs: 42g (I liked my carb total during meat week better, but 42 isn't bad)

I know.  If it makes you feel any better, on Thursday it's going to drop to the 60s-70s with thunderstorms.

It is Freakin' freezing where I am. ( Just outside of Montreal!)

QOTD: gawd what I wouldn't do for a smoked meat sandwich from Montreal! I'm not a huge sandwich person, but I've been dreaming of smoked meat sandwiches.

I am 14 days out of surgery.

B: 1/2 Chocolate Premier Protein

Lunch: scrambled egg

Dinner: No sure yet!

AM snack Chobani simply100 Vanilla

PM snack: 1/2 chocolate premiere protein

I was craving avocado last night. So I cut one up and mashed it up. Well...apparently my belly doesn't like it. Not feeling the greatest since. Any bathroom issues I had going have been alleviated. ? Sorry TMI.

Have a fabulous day!

Mmmmm...sammiches.  I'm still pretty early in and I haven't tried bread, I'm hoping I can't tolerate it and if I can, I don't want to know.

My favorite sandwiches come from a deli here called Capriottis, they have one called "The Bobbie", turkey salad, stuffing and cranberry sauce that I absolutely adore (you know, bread topped with bread).  I try not to think about them too often.

It snowed here last Monday, I think it's all moved to your portion of the country now, it's supposed to be 69 here today.

B: 1/2 of an iMetabolic protein shake

L: leftover basil chicken

D: more chicken

S: hard boiled egg

I have a doctor's appointment today with my surgeon, I'm hoping he can shed some light on why I have been feeling so bad lately.  I'm afraid I already know the answer.... I'm relatively sure I'm dehydrated.  I have so much respect for those of you that can get your water in, I struggle with it every day.

Have you tried switching up your water intake? Try different temperatures! Some people only take it ice cold while others need hot or room temp. I know others say that straigh****er is intolerable but adding a drop of Mio mix or something similar really helps.

Mom the plus side, dehydration is relatively easy to fix, so I hope it's as simple as that!

Thanks for responding! I haven't tried the water at different temps, I'm going to next.  Sometimes I crave straigh****er, sometimes not.

I just got back from the doctor, they said I'm dehydrated, but not terribly so.  They want me to drink some G2 (Gatorade2) for a couple of days until I get my electolytes right.  I haven't been eating enough (about 300 calories a day) and they want me to double that.  Of course, being dehydrated makes me want to throw up everything I eat - it's a vicious cycle.  Anyways, they want me to get hydrated first then try to tackle more calories.

I really appreciate all the feedback and insight I get from everyone here, I'm so glad I found the group!

Try Powerade Zero instead of the Gatorade G2. Powerade Zero has no calories, and the same electrolytes, while the G2 has 80 calories. Last time I checked anyway.
