What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?

My run (1/2 mar.) is this Saturday. I think Kelly and Deanna had races this past weekend. 

For some reason I thought it was last weekend.  Do you have the Hollywood and Tinkerbell coming up?  Or am I confusing you with Kelly?

No, that's me. The Hollywood is this coming Saturday and Tinker bell is on Mother's Day. They're about 5 weeks apart. If my endoscopy goes poorly, Tinker Bell will likely be the end of my running season, until Turkey Trot at thanksgiving (although my surgeon is under the impression we're running a race together this summer)

Hmmm... a running date with your surgeon?  That sounds promising! LOL

I'm apparently also doing a Christmas run with him, his wife and 4 year old   Feel free to join us on December 10!  I told him to let me know if he has a brother!

Hi Stacy, jealous about your awesome weather!  Don't sweat the carbs, you are training and about to do a 1/2 marathon you will those carbs off no problem, just look after your health now.

Good morning! Lots of fresh snow here, so shoveling will feature in today's activities.

Great protein numbers!!! And same here, we got a ton of snow!

Harry chapin? Of Course! He was a Long Islander, hometown boy...actually did come from the town I grew up in. There is still a food nank here named after him.

Famous in the family? No.  Brushes with famous a few.

-Sat a table next to Oj Simpson in a restaurant in Acapulco when he was still just a football player.

-took my son on a 'visit the sites and monuments trip' to DC when he was 12. My sister and brother in law were in town for a convention. 2 things happened- my BIL knew someone who was a secret service agent so we were able to get a private tour of the White house. Very cool, saw the oval office, the china room and the bowling alley. We signed the official guestbook, and my son signed his signiture really large. When I asked him why he said it was his "John Han****" LOL.

2nd thing- My BIL was up there in the Hotel management world...so they always stayed at 4-star hotels. So we went to visit them at I think it was Waldorf Astoria in Pentagon City. We were at a Holiday Inn. :). When we were leaving we were coming down the elevators to go back to our hotel...the doors of the elevator opened, we stepped out, and Secret Service or who ever they were pushed us to the side, there was Military every where, they had already cleared the lobby... and Yassar Arafat walks by us, within  3 feet... smiles at us, nods his head, and gives aquick wave of his hand, and then gets on the elevator. Once he got on the elevator, they let us go. As we walked out of the hotel, there were helicopters flying overhead, with spotlights...SWAT teams with machine guns over their shoulders jumping into vans....had to be at least 75-100 military out there...amazing, exciting and scary at the same time. This was the Clinton Administration and Arafat was there on state business.

Bought the Bananas and Cream protein at Sams Club and didnt even realize it had just came out. I just thought I never noticed. Anyway I like it, tastes like banana pudding. Going to buy more.

Cool on the brushes with famous folks! My hubby has met Presidents Bill Clinton & Barack Obama- we have an autographed copy of Obama's book, "The Audacity of Hope". He met them while working security for the city.
