RNY vs VSG for PCOS

I did not have PCOS, but I find your surgeon's statements troubling. Pushing you toward one surgery due to its simplicity concerns me. It sounds like he is more comfortable doing the sleeve, and it pushing you for that reason instead of because of what's best for you. My surgeon did not push me toward either surgery, and I choose RNY because I felt it was the better choice for me. Don't change surgeries because you feel pressured to. Do what's right for you. Get a second opinion if necessary.

I also think getting a second opinion is a good idea. A surgeon shouldn't push you towards a surgery because it is simpler.

I chose RNY because I felt I needed the malabsorption to get me where I needed to go. At the point in my life where I was - menopausal, which also obviously creates hormone issues...even when I go to Weigh****chers, or go on another diet and follow it faithfully...I would only lose like 10lbs and that is it. So restriction alone did not seem to be working for me at that point, and I couldn't see how if that wasn't working the sleeve was going to work for me. I do not find the vitamins overwhelming at all, once you get into a routine.  I did have a hernia recently repaired, one of my incisions basically never healed internally. I have lost 207lbs and am 20 months out. I am at goal...and trying to find my happy place.
