Yep. That's the way to do it! Distract yourself in the moment, and be super proud of every minute you don't cave in :)

Head hunger is the worst. I can't even read or watch the Food network without it triggering head hunger.
Good for you on the breathe in and out and sip water.
One thing I have tried to do was have a snack planned at night in case I wanted something. If it was planned and I hate it I didn't feel bad. I had to make sure I was hungry and not just bored.
Sometimes when I journal my food on paper I will write down how I was feeling before I ate it. I know it may sound silly. Sometimes boredom or just plain old habits creep back in.
Night time can be hard.
Hot tea with lemon, decaf coffee, brushing teeth, all help me with nighttime head hunger.
