Um, that's really fast. Most people GAIN WEIGHT after surgery. You've lost 7 pounds --- WTH?? You're doing great.
Good luck with your staples

You are doing well. Dont try to base your weight loss on others who may have lost more. You may find that they had more weight to lose so its natural for them to lose more at first. 7 pounds is great! Dont forget you have had crazy swelling, if it was laproscopic you had gas pumped into you. All those fluids and pain meds holding on to. You fought through all that and still lost 7 lbs!!!
Just remember when you feel like its slowing and you aren't seeing the scale move as fast as you want...
We didn't put it on overnight so its not gonna come off overnight.

I gained 11 pounds from my RNY.
Your body was just put through tremendous upheaval. It will re-align itself in it's own time. Think about what you're asking from your body, first you were big for some time, then YOU decide to try and address the problem with surgery. Your body is just getting the memo now. Your mind is racing ahead of what your body is ready for.
I looked at it this way. If I'm going to LIVE what the lifestyle requires, then I will never concern myself with the benefits (which are many) of the life. Only the proper execution of the lifestyle requires my concern. Everything else takes care of itself.
I weighed 225 right before I went into surgery. I was in the hospital 2 days and I weighed 242 the day I went home. I took me three weeks to get back down to 225! I know it's hard to do right now, but try not to worry about the scale. Just concentrate on following the program. It will work!

I was the same way, I left the hospital and was disappointed I hadn't lost 20lbs. Seven pounds in a week is A LOT of weight to lose in that much time. I started doing "long term" math in my head, because I was so disappointed when I stepped on the scale and saw that I had lost only 4lbs. one week. Four pounds a week equals sixteen pounds in a month, is 160lbs in 10 months. That's about what I want to lose, and I can deal with waiting 10 months to get there. And, it sounds as if you're doing all the right things, I think you're going to be surprised one day soon when you look in the mirror and really start to notice the changes.
Good luck!
Thank you for putting it into perspective.
I am already noticing the changes. Physically, I am able to do much more than ever.
i think I'm goi g to try and reframe it in my mind. I am just going to enjoy each and every day of this journey. Ten days out and it's been great so far. No pain. Diet working. Getting water in. Exercising. This surgery was the tool I needed.
