You and JB look great.... Does she live near you of visiting town?

Thought I'd post my own pic of Emily and I. It was so great meeting her this week and we had lots of fun...Jewelry shopping and a long meat dinner in an Indian Restaurant.

My reflections on Meat Week: I did the critter version ...but my only 'critter' was my premier protein and a few slices of cheese. So my yogurt, milk etc...(except in coffee/tea) I am down 5lbs. That being said I was still up 4lbs from my wedding weekend in AZ 2 weekends ago, so quick gain=quick loss if you can get back on track... but last week I was just fluctuating around-- Meat Week took it off. So I lost one additional pound....We will see what tomorrow brings after the last day of meat week.

As mentioned earlier in the week....by Wednesday my appetite has been non existent. I do not feel deprived. It just takes a little creative thinking. As I also mentioned earlier, being on the road for 2 days really showed me how much mindless eating I rely on on Road trips. With some planning it can be done, and traveling doesn't have to mean getting off plan.

I ate a nice pile of bacon when I was out to breakfast yesterday...thought the fat might make my system move...not... BTW my breakfast meeting was as awkward as I expected.... Not that we didn't talk about things but kinda danced around it. Just can't be open with this person after she felt the need to express so vehemently that I shouldn't have the surgery...makes me a little sad.

I also resurrected a snack from my childhood for meat week - I am going to have it again today. My Dad was on the low-carb bandwagon with Atkins first book. He bought like 10 copies of it and gave it to all his friends. We had this new-fangled thing called a microwave oven... so we would microwave 2 slices bacon on a plate, then lay Muenster cheese on it and melt again. hahahaha... low carb snack.

So for me Meat Week was a total success....Controlled hunger, lost a little...learned a few things. I would definitely consider a repeat to "Get Back On Track" as needed....forget the 5-day-pouch Test... MEAT!

B: Tea, Premier Protein (tried the new Bananas and Cream and like it. Tastes like Banana Pudding. Got a Sam's Club)

L: Chicken Salad

S: Bacon and melted Muenster

D; lamb Chops or Steak

S: Hot Premier Protein

E: Modified 21-day-fix

EDIT: Also bought a pair of size 6 jeans yesterday. What? While I know I am not a size 6 really, they just ran big... the idea that this SMO woman could ever buy a size 6 anything for any reason is preposterous. Feel like an imposter...who is this?

You guys look great. Thanks for sharing!

Juniper lives close by, and actually floats around the state for her job, so it works out really well.

Car food was always the worst for me. If I had a 6 hour drive, I'd bring more food than the Pilgrims brought on the Mayflower.

Speaking of which, Plymouth Rock is the lamest, most ludicrous tourist attraction in the world.

Oh I've been to Plymouth Rock many times, as my brother and family used to live in Plymouth. It is ridiculous... You picture this giant bluff of rock or something. First time I went- it's a boulder surrounded by chain link fence and had graffiti on it. What??

There's a gal in town who married a guy who got put in jail as a teenager, along with his buddies, for trying to blow up Plymouth Rock. He has a strong Boston accent and she has a strong Fargo accent.  He's still wild; she's as conservative as a Minnesotan can get.  When they married, his mother, a cop, said to her new daughter-in-law, "Good Luck with that Bass-tad, I could never do a thang with him."

No, no, no don't say that!!!  We lived in Mass for one year when I was 10 and made a couple of trips to Plymouth Rock and Plantation.  I remember those trips fondly to this day!

It's a great trip, with lots to do and see. The plantation is great, as is the Mayflower. But the rock itself? Utter disappointment.
