I know how you feel, we moved three years ago, only 5 minutes away from the home we lived in for 24 years, where my kids grew up.  I still can't go down that street.  I miss my home that we built, I miss our beautiful yard and my neighbors that were like family.  Unfortunately, we were hit hard during the recession and could no longer keep up the payments on our beautiful home.  Our home now is nice enough, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love it, but it's not "home" and I don't like living on a main street and having neighbors in my back yard.   I liked our cul-de-sac and woods behind us and all the animals that would visit us (except for the fox, I wasn't crazy about him).  I keep in touch with a few of the neighbors, it's not like I moved too far, but something was lost when we moved.

Reading this made me melancholy for you.  I have been in my house for 22 years now, and every tree means something to me.  I can foresee that we might need to move eventually, but I just can't imagine how emotionally wrenching it must be.

Good morning all,

sorry I've been MIA for a few days, the flu (the real stinking INFLUENZA) ha**** my house with a vengeance. I have spent more on Tamiflu and ibuprofen in the past week....anyway, everyone seems to be on the mend, 1 out of 5 children have avoided it, plus both parents, so there's that.

Despite my lapses lately, the scale did move down 2 pounds this week, so that's a positive for sure. Nothing from the surgeon's office on an earlier date yet, still looking at June.

QOTD: my window overlooks our backyard, woods, my kids' play stuff and chicken coop. It's not a bad view, but I don't do dishes- I've got children for that haha.

B- 2 boiled eggs, top sirloin, irish tea w/creamer

L- top sirloin, broccoli

D- sloppy joe meat, cottage cheese

Cals: 847 at this point...no snacks planned so may go up to around 1000-1100 with more tea & creamer

Consult Weight:276/Surgery Day Weight: 241.6 /Goal Weight: 150

So annoyed before, I had written out a whole post and before I got to send it Firefox crashed on my Tablet. Boo. Now on computer...

Musings on AMAW Week: SO it has been interesting road trip traveling and trying to do AMAW.... has made me realize how much mindless snacking on crunchies is a part of road trips. My go to - what I thought was healthy at the time- snacks were pretzels rods and apples. Thank goodness  for 7-11 next to the hotel I stayed in...both days I got coffee and was able to get 2 hard boiled eggs in a pack for $1.49. Not bad. Lost 2lbs over the 2 day. Not that I am trying to lose, just trying to stay in what I think for the moment is my 'happy place'... so still there. I was up from the wedding last weekend..so glad to lose it.

Tuesday's food:

2 hard boiled eggs
3/4 of an Elevation Burger at Maryland House rest stop(gas station convenience store actually). Someone on here turned me on to this. Grass-fed, organic- not that I care, but fresh.
Starbucks Tea Latte
premier protein
Bacon Jerky - broke it out while stuck on Belt Parkway between Verrazano Bridge and JFK. Should be 20 min... 1 1/2 hours. Ate a tic tac after as a condiment to cool my mouth. LOL.
4 oz Roast beef (at home)
Hot premier protein

Wednesday:
B: tea, 2 eggs, 1 slice cheese
L: 4oz Roast Beef
S: 2 strips bacon, muenster cheese
D: Chicken or fish with salsa
S: Hot Premier protein

E: Doc said I can exercise, just no AB exercises for 2 weeks.. so going try my modified 21-day-fix. cardio...

BTW- Appt went really well. Dr. Michaels is a gem. Can't recommend him enough. Worth every minute stuck in traffic. All is healing well, and ready for Part 2 May 2nd. He's funny you can tell he gets excited over his own handiwork. Now just praying my same girlfriend can get babysitters for her kids so she can come with me again....

That's the sort of doctor I love, one who does his best to be perfect. My foot surgeon was that way. Everything has to be just right. I'm sure hospital staff hate it because they had to redo xrays. But since he was working on me that's what I would like. Glad you are healing well. I showed hubby the picture of you and Emily and he couldn't believe you had both lost that much weight! Looking great!

Good Wednesday morning from sunny CNY!  You guys, Syracuse has gone completely insane.  LOL  I mean, this is a basketball town anyway, but since SU made the Final Four, you can't turn around without seeing orange.  And I have to admit, I am completely into it, too.  I got me an SU shirt and everything.  We watched the last two games and they were crazy exciting so I'm hoping for an awesome outcome this Saturday when they play NC!  And, AND the SU women are in the Final Four, too!  Woo, college basketball!  LMAO

QOTD!  What's the view from your kitchen window?  Bonus points if you include a picture.  LOL  The window above my kitchen sink looks out over my backyard and the woods beyond.  It has a most excellent view of the sunrise above the cedars, which I'm lucky enough to witness every morning.

Today's menu is much better than yesterday, but I still am falling outside of the AMAW critter challenge.  Oh well.  C'est la and all that jazz.

Time since surgery:  20+ months

B:  coffee, L&F Greek toasted coconut vanilla with some extra chocolate covered coconut chips mixed in.  Mmmm...coconut.

S:  pistachio thinaddictives with a LC wedge

L:  deli turkey breast/string cheese rollup with a HB egg and some pickles

D:  leftover ham with scrambled eggs and 1 oz. cheddar

TOTALS:  Cals:  883  Protein:  82  Carbs:  39  Fat:  44

My bad I live in the Cuse and see orange but am not a sport fanatic. I do wish the teams well all the same.

Still wish I had that Damn basketball from the last Final Four with Boehiem that was signed by him!! I could be rich!! Or could have lol.

Good morning!  Day two of AMAW in the books.  I may have to switch to critter today since I don't know if I have enough meat with me.  I thought I planned well, but I guess not.  Oh well, if need be, I'll throw in a critter snack.  The view from my kitchen window is nothing special . . . my next door neighbor's backyard.   Oh, and part of my dog run . . . totally and utterly boring.  I'm envious of people who live in areas with views since I've got nothing.

Here's my plan (invoking my right to convert to critter)

B: Ground turkey (4.8oz) 1/2 tbs of pesto

L: 5 oz ham

D: Pork chop

S: 2 oz ribeye and if needed an on the go container of cottage cheese (critter approved)

Totals (including critter snack) Cal.: 886; PRotein: 104g; Fat: 43g; carbs: 16g

It's an exercise rest day for me

Have a great day!
