What's on your Monday Menu RNYers? Meat Week Begins!
Hi, I've been waiting, but I'm thinking AV must have been waylaid by some crazy Monday morning after the holiday issue. I am starting this up for her! I wasn't expecting to post this, so I don't have a QOTD. Someone, hurry up and think of something...
You guys, it's meat week and I'm ready! I'm feeling ******g fantastic (excuse the language, but it seemed appropriate this morning). I posted that I started running in the last few weeks, and then last Wednesday I went to the gym for the first time in decades. I ended up going back Saturday morning and then again this morning. Yesterday, because the gym wasn't open and I wanted to loosen my sore muscles, I took my family on a leisurely 3 mile walk. I have to say, I have never liked exercise, but I think it's because I've never really don't exercise like this in my life. I feel sore, but on top of that, I feel AMAZING! I was talking to my hubby and we had decided that I'd go to the gym 3 days a week M, W and F in the morning, and then run a few days a week. But the more I think about it, the more I want to go back to the gym tomorrow morning AND do my run. It's pretty affordable, so I think I'm going to talk to him about it again tonight and see if he's behind me on it. It means a minor change in our morning routine, but it's totally doable. If he has to travel out of town, I won't be able to go because of my kiddo, but most of the time I'll be going.
Sad news is since I started going to the gym I've gained 3lbs. I haven't updated my ticker because I'm in protest. I have been so good on my food intake, I know it's water weight and possibly some muscle, but it's frustrating when I've been kicking ass so much.
Anyway, I'm ready for Meat Week! Today is all meat, with a protein shake and some cheese. I even picked up vanilla yogurt with no fruit (I am considering vanilla a spice, so it falls in line with the meat week).
almost 8 months since surgery
B: 1/2 scoop Quest Vanilla Milkshake with 4oz fairlife milk (4oz water also) and a dash of pumpkin pie spice, 1 egg, 1 bacon and coffee with cream and splenda
L: 3oz roast beef, 1 slice swiss cheese with mustard and a boiled egg.
D: Leftover ham and a slice of swiss cheese
S: Afternoon- light and fit vanilla, evening 1/2 scoop Quest Vanilla with 1/2c fairlife.
Totals:
Calories 849 Protein 104 Carbs 24 Fat 40
I was using almond milk for my protein last week, but switched to milk this week because of meet week. I prefer the almond milk with it, but will do the fairlife for the week. Also, I am giving myself a break on my calories, since I think it will be higher because of all of the meat I'm eating.
Yay for meat week!
Ok for my post today I want to talk about how the scale is JUST not moving for me. And I'm just over 3 months out. Is there a 3 month stall I'm unaware of? I'm so annoyed.
B: either yogurt or meat
L: meat (shrimp i think or salmon)
D: ham
S: some other meat
I'm jogging today even though the pollen here is bad.
Did we determine we could have protein bars? I thought we could.
I think that sometimes there is a stall between 3 and 4 months out. I've had a few. I'm nearly 8 months out and my scale is making me very, very angry. I know it's gotta just be a stall, but my loss has almost stopped entirely. I'm tracking and not cheating and coming in under 900 calories (most of the time I'm under 800).
Hang in there, stick to plan and the stall will break!

You will stall whenever the hell your body feels like it. Last month I was convinced that I was "done" losing and all my docs agreed. But suddenly it just started back up again, without me changing anything. Stalls suck, but they are temporary :)
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
I'm not participating in the amaw challenge but I believe protein bars are out. I remember telling Grimm that I really didn't want to give up my overblown candy/protein bars. Good luck to all!

There are stalls anytime.... in Month 3 I stalled for 2 weeks...

Good for you about getting out and running. I can't run. I will say I won't run. I do walk pretty fast every morning though. Don't change your ticker. That three pounds will be gone soon.
B:Ham and cheese
L:Not sure I have to drive my daughter back to school
D:Ham and cheese
Yesterday I was so set for brisket but it didn't come. So we went out to dinner. I ate cheese and pepperoni. I know not the best choice but I wasn't hungry later on.
Have a great day.
I do get to look forward to the meat that is coming soon .
