I have found that taking responsibility for what I put in my mouth has been so very important to success.  I'm still only 8 months out, but this is has such a huge learning experience for me.

Taking responsibility, and dropping the chip off of my shoulder when someone calls me out for bad behavior.  This journey for me has been so humbling.

Pick back up, dust yourself off and get right back to it.  We are all human, and we all make mistakes.  It's learning from them and moving past them that will help make us successful.

UPDATE: I just heard from my dietitian. She said it's common to fall off track and she won't cancel the surgery just because of it. I just have to get back on the wagon, which I have done.

WHEW. Thanks for all your great advice and support.

I'm so happy for you and I hope others look to you as an example of what to do when we do stumble.  Confessing it here on an internet message board isn't enough.  You did exactly the right thing when you contacted your dietician.

It's a breath of fresh air to see someone handle an error in judgment  like an adult instead of posting looking for a bunch of coddling and handholding. We don't see many handle this like you did.  It bodes very well for your future success.

Take care and good for you for recognizing a problem and addressing it instead of attempting to gloss over the situation and suggest that "everybody does it".   You're gonna do great!

I'm glad to hear this.  And I agree with the others that it is awesome that you were so honest about what happened.  We obviously don't want to cheat, but it happens, and it's important to keep working on not just give up because of it.

You should not even confess, its good that your honest though :)

i ate preop , i wasnt on liquids one week before surgery, it doesnt really matter to them, they just wanna see if you can lose weight on your own, 5 to 10 pounds lost is ok for them... But you should not worry at all, that wont hurt you or bring you complications on surgery day, i ate alot during pre-op. And had no complications, when you have surgery you will get used to the liquids lol cause your stomach will be full quickly, you will still think of food and even have food dreams, or probably depressed because you want food, just dont cheat during your liquid, pureed stage, then your good, pre op doesnt matter, post op matters lol

I went to church the day before my surgery and accidentally took communion!  Totally forgot about it until I was swallowing it!  Talk about Christian guilt!!!!  I was so afraid I was going to be in trouble!  Nothing bad happened, though!
