What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?

Yay, it's the weekend! I am really looking forward to a relaxing few days. I earned it after this very looong week.

Today my BFF is coming over and we are going to be "artsy". We both love doing crafty projects together--she is an amazing potter and I love paper-crafts. Today we are both going to step out of our comfort zones and try doing watercolors. I saw something online that I wanted to buy and she suggested we try saving money and try making it ourselves. If it goes well, I will post pics of the results tomorrow, but don't hold your breath!

QOTD: Do you have a hobby? Have you (like me) spent the equivalent of a 2nd mortgage on it? Post pictures of your hobby and show us what you do! Here is a pic of a tiny book I made.

Morning JB. I love the book! Tell us about the paper please. It doesn't look like you got it at Staples. And I would like to see the results of the Grea****ercolor Experiment of 2016, regardless.

Food yesterday was the usual, heavy on sausages. Mmmm. I was even able to resist movie popcorn again.

My hobby is mostly wood. All kinds of things. Below is a couple of pictures I had handy. Maybe I'll take a couple of new photos of current work later.

Here is a sample ball and claw foot I carved:

And here is my upstairs handdtool room, with a workbench and toolchest made. The big noisy machines are in the cellar.

WOW, your carving is amazing. I can't believe you are self-taught...

Grim made me the most beautiful boxes last week. I'm trying to post a picture but my phone is being finicky. I'll try from home later. Seriously, I can't believe how talented you are!

How was the movie?

Grim, you and my husband would be kindred spirits. He's  a self taught carpenter too. He's made our coffe table, bookcase, and entry bench among countless other pieces for others. He's really become good at it.

here are some of his pieces:
