Hi all! 

I am moving on to purée foods starting tomorrow and that will last for 2 weeks! Any suggestions on good puréed food? 

Ps: I have to go to the grocery store and that gives me anxiety! Lol

Check out The world according to eggface blog... she has recipes for each stage.

Ricotta bake and refried beans with salasa and cheese are favorites.

I always tried to mix a little unflavored protein into things to up the protein a little.

Eggface's Ricotta bake and ricotta pancakes saved me from going crazy, small curd cottage cheese helped too, and I made tuna salad with the "hickory smoked" packet stuff and ran that thru the blender - it tasted really good too.  I thought some bean with bacon soup + added a scoop of unflavored Unjury wasn't terrible.  I didn't even run that thru the blender, just chewed up them beans really well.  Towards the end of the two weeks I added in a scrambled egg (chewed it up really well) and that worked for me.  Some people say they have trouble with eggs, but not me!  Good luck - I couldn't wait for Phase 2 to be over!

IF you are a tuna person ( I am) grab some tuna. It is flaky but you may need to add a tbsp of Lite mayo to it. It will give you your Fats to help your gallbladder (is what we were told) I had mine removed this week. 

Instant Mashed potatoes- ive never liked them but i got to like them. 

Malt o meal 

Laughing cow spreadable cheese wedges. You dont have to do anything but enjoy it. They even have pepper jack. 

canned fruits-I grabbed a bunch of low sugar or fruits in extra light syrup. I have to puree it but it still taste good. 

Canned Veggies- some like fresh but during the pureed and soft food stage the veggies HAVE to be extremely cooked. so Can veggies are.

String cheese- if you can have it.

Parfait jello (sugar free) walmart sells them in a 12 pack. OMG so good.

Yogurt- Fage has the best protein content but ehh on taste. you can add fruit in it. I like chobani 100 vanilla. 2 tbsp is enough and store the rest.

Meats like Chicken, Pork, and fish just make sure you are wetting the meats so they go down easy. Chicken is not as appealing when pureed with Chicken broth BUT it taste better than eating all Full fluids and nothing else. 

Laughing cow circle cheese- I was able to do the laughing cow circles . the red ones and just chew chew chew til it was applesauce. 

Applesauce - Make sure its unsweetened

Cottage cheese- not for me though.

Cream cheese - no clue why they put this on my list but i was happy i could have it. once in a while i took a spoon and just licked it off. Maybe 2 times a week.

 

Please make sure you can have this stuff. Some doctors dont want certain things. I was just listing the stuff i bought for me for the pureed stages. If your doctor gave you a binder it may be in there. I call mine by weight loss bible. 

 

Good luck with your pureed diet. I know its rough but you will be on soft foods real soon, and omg yes its worth the wait Dont try to go to fast or you may end up with stuck food and you will feel miserable. Don't forget to chew chew chew this and make sure its applesauce consistency.
