Here is what someone sent me when I told them about my meat week

Hey, my father was an anthropologist/archaeologist who lived with the intuits for nearly a year for his dissertation. He was never healthier in his life than when he returned from eating mostly raw meat and fat for that time.

There is just bad information out there. That article mentions that those eating high amounts of meat are more likely to become diabetic. What? It's the Twinkies, cookies, bread, and potatoes causing the diabetes, not the meat. If all you ate was meat, you'd never be diabetic.
When they pushed low fat diets on us 30 years ago, they pushed an entire generation into obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. We didn't replace fat with meat, we replaced it with crappy carbs. If they convince people to give up meat, they aren't going to substitute green veggies and fruits. They're going to end up turning, once again, to crappy carbs.

You know what I call someone who uses the American Diabetes Association's meal plans?
A Diabetic.
The fact that the ADA is almost completely funded by the drug companies who make diabetic meds, ...food giants such as Nestle, General Mills and Kellogg's -- and most ridiculously -- Coca Cola -- should be a tip off that they've no real interest in people curing themselves, but rather in producing more customers.
