What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?

Yay for making your appointment! The whole process is a little surreal. I had 5 plastc surgery consults.... 2 Local and 3 with surgeons who are known for working on people with massive weight loss. Not that you need to do that many, but even though you are talking about the same surgery, they all have their personal take on what is important. Also prices can vary widely.

Went with Dr. Michaels in DC. Loved him! Dr. Capella in Northern Jersey was my runner-up. Very glad I went with someone who this is their specialty.

Thank you, it really didn't occur to me that I should book a couple consults with different people! I am somewhat limited, as I work for a health system and I have a plan that requires us to use their network of providers. But I can at least check out a few of them. Thanks again!

QOTD: I have a few things- I don't like my food touching, I eat all my food in order, I don't leave the house without perfume on, when I go on a trip I check and recheck the same things over again.

My scale is NOT MOVING! it has been a week and a 1/2! What the hell! Also- woke up with my eyes and throat clogged from all this dang pollen in GA. Not cool.

I'm putting what I ate yesterday since I have no idea whan I'm having today besides my premier choc shake for breakfast.

Also- it seems my 4 day stretch of 'weird pouch' appears to be fixed by taking the PPI at night instead of morning?

My youngest son Sam,who lives in Marietta, says his nose is all stuffy this morning too. He works in a botanical garden in Kennesaw and says everything is blooming there! Pretty, but not great for those with allergies.

QOTD: I'm certain that I have quirks, but I can't think of one offhand. I will have to ask my husband, he will know one for sure.   I can readily  name his: he has to have the tv volume set on an even number. Heehee. I mess with him and change it to the "odds".

B- 2 chicken strips and 2 eggs over easy

L- qdoba chicken; pinto beans, guac, lettuce, pico

D- ****tail shrimp with sauce, cheddar cheese

Cals: 1200

*I am really struggling right now with keeping my head in this. June (surgery date) seems like forever away to me still and I keep self-sabotaging. I haven't given up completely or anything like I would've with previous "diet attempts", but I can tell my heart isn't in it the same as it was at the onset.

Just keep at it- I know June seems like a long way off, but keep your mind busy with other things- or try to pick up some new cooking books or some thing to keep your mind in it.

Are you going to support groups also?

No, I'm not. My surgeon's groups are like 60 minutes away and I work full time plus have 5 kids who are involved in EVERYTHING. It's not a bad suggestion though, maybe I will check into when the next one is...

If we could do it perfectly presurgery we wouldn't need surgery. Do the best you can each day.....before you know it you will be there.

for a few months pre-surgery I struggled.  I tried to keep my calories at about 1500, but it was so hard.  Do not beat yourself up if you can't be perfect.  Hell, I'm already here and i'm not perfect and neither is anyone else who's had the surgery.  Just don't give up, it's worth fighting.  Shrug off the day before and start new again.
