What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Hey all! We are in the midst of a big, beautiful blizzard. And where am I? Why at work of course, because why oh why would we choose to excercise good judgment and close the clinic? Schools, county offices, etc are all closed. Husband and boy are at home (likely still in just their underwear- because why wear pants?) enjoying their snow day :)
QOTD: Much has to do with consistency- doing things in a certain order. I get obsessive about doors (some open, some closed, and if so, how much closed).

Good morning! I'll have to see if I can find a picture of me when I was a kid. My mother, who has lived in the same house for 27 years, seems to have lost all of the pictures from my childhood. I have a friend who was born and lived for the first 11 years of her life in Nicaragua . . . who fled with her family in the middle of the night . . . she has photo albums from her childhood. My mother, who fled from the city to the suburbs, has none. Go figure.
KQOTD - I have a few. So bananas . . . I'm not as extreme as AV, but they need to be bought in an even number . . . 2, 4, or 6. Never 3 or 5. If I'm bringing bottled water or toilet paper, or anything in from our outside storage, it has to be an even number. I will never grab 3 of anything. If I have a pack of gum, I have to pull the pieces out in order. If someone asks for gum and they pull a piece from the middle instead of one of the ends, I give them the pack because it DRIVES ME CRAZY. I've now taken to buying the cups filled with individual pieces which helps to avoid the problem. Oh and toothpaste. Please don't squeeze from the middle of the tube. Squeeze from the bottom and flatten as you go, thankyouverymuch.
Here's my plan:
B: Turkey and cheese; sugar free hot chocolate
L: Tri tip and kale salad
D: hamburger patty, 1 slice of cheese and grilled onions, asian slaw
S: Light and fit, 2.1oz ham 1oz Provolone
It's a rest day, so no exercise is planned

That is totally weird about the childhood photos. And I honestly loved reading the comparison to the friend from Nicaragua.
Having lived in my house for 22 years I can see how things can get lost--sorting and cleaning out is not required--other things on the to-do list are more urgent, so stuff just hangs around. And then more stuff kind of builds around it. Like a gravity force field of stuff. We are not hoarders, but we have a small room in our house that is technically our office, that we sometimes call "the Room of Requirement" like from the Harry Potter books/movies. Kid: "Where is such-and-such?" Mom: "Go check the Room of Requirement! I bet someone dumped it in there." Kid: "I found the folder I need!" Mom: "Did you clean things up and leave them as you found them?" (HAHAHAHAHA)
OMG! For me, it was HP5. Although it was released in June, I still struggled with taking a break from studying to read it. I powered through it just like you did. When the movies came out, I took my cousins to the first three. Then they got older and wanted to go with their friends. When the last movie was released, my cousin Lyle called me and said "we started this together, we should fini**** together" So, I went with my 17 and 18 year old cousins to see the last movie. At the end, he looked at me and said "I feel like a part of my childhood just died." I used to pre-order the books and have them delivered to their houses. I'm sitting here getting all teary-eyed.
HP World at Universal Hollywood is opening in April. I CANNOT WAIT!!
