Howdy. Havent had a chance to read through all the posts.

Morning routine-(pre surgery- right now i have no schedule for one more day)

5:45- up, coffee, meditate/pray , 6:20 wake up daughter and husband with hot chocolate (protein powder) and coffee respectively, cuddle till 6:45am , get showered, dressed, , check on daughter 20 times through process (she has ADD-) pack her snack ( she is doing this now) get out the door by 7:30 am. I dont wash my hair every day.  Dry shampoo has been a godsend to my morning routine.

Once my belly heals and i get a few pounds off, i would like to get back to a 5 am wake up, get a quick weight work out in-  we are putting together a gym in the basement.  I feel better when i do.

6 days post op.

Had a bit of a rough morning. I had some nausea, so i took a zofran, and just had water and herbal tea for the first couple hours. 32oz fluids

M1 premier protein 30g

M2 premier protein (hair appt)

M3 chicken unjury powder 27G

Snacks will be sugar free popsicles, hin****er. ,

i made a very thin soup from a baked purple potato yesterday and bone broth. it was tasty. I made it as thin as any shake and cream soups were allowed on my diet- i decided instead of a soup made by someone else, i would make one. it was a nice 100 calorie snack. had good beta carotene  and bone broth- 9G of protein.

Still in my emotional post surgery lull. I am weepy today. May be hormonal too.  This too shall pass.

You're doing well!! I was weepy/emotional after surgery too and cried on more than one occasion (actually that's normal for me but let's blame all the changes from surgery, ok). How do you make your protein hot chocolate? I wanted to try this but haven't figured out the best way...

For the hot chocolate for my daughter I heat up milk for 1 min 8oz, then out the powder in, shake it up. It's not too hot that the protein clumps I use SFH pure protein it's expensive but for her little body and brain it's great. I know she is getting 27g protein in off the bat. I will make her toast or something to eat in the car but she is kind of full  from the hot choc. So for snack for her is fruit and mozzarella balls. Truly this kid has been set up for good habits!!

when I tasted the Premier protein choc shake I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I now heat that up for me - it's amazing as hot chocolate !! It's thick and rich !

Protein powder will clump if you put it into very hot liquid. The best way is to mix the powder in a little lukewarm liquid to make a slurry. Then you can mix the slurry into very hot liquid, and it won't clump.

Oh, the problem the students had to argue last night was a trade secret dispute between two chocolate companies.  The school has a reception after the arguments so the students can talk to the practicioners, etc.  Anyway, the decided that since the problem involved chocolate, it would be a good idea to have a chocolate dessert bar at the reception.  Chocolate candy, chocolate cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate covered strawberries. . . you get the idea.  I got stuck in horrible traffic on my way to the school so I missed dinner (which actually was WLS friendly) so by the time we got to the reception i was STARVING!  I had a chocolate covered strawberry and a little square of "swirled" chocolate (milk and dark) since the problem revolved around the swirl.  It could have been much worse, but  damn them.  The problem was one that had been used before, except before the product was fruit infused vodka.  I complained that the reception for that year didn't include a vodka bar and if they're going to go with a theme, they really should be consistent.  Damn chocolate bar . . .

that's chocolate heaven right there.  I have made my own homemade chocolate covered strawberries, they are divine. I haven't made any in over a year, I can't have them in my house, slippery slope, I justify it cuz its a strawberry and ate like four!

I second "Damn Chocolate Bar..."

Ok, let me just say that y'all get up INSANELY early!  I didn't count but dayum...there were a lot of people getting up between 3 and 6 am!  My day couldn't be more different!  Since I am fortunate to work from home, I tend to wake up (like today) at 7:13 (I have this weird OCD thing where I cannot set my alarm for a normal number like 7 or 7:15 or even 7:05, it has to be odd - I cannot even believe I am owning up to this!) and then brush my teeth, pop in contacts, put on workout clothes that I laid out the night before, and rush out the door to walk to a workout class at 8 am.  Home by 9:10 to sit, check email, sip an iced coffee, and listen to the news on the Today Show.  I love my lazy mornings.  Well, they include working out so they aren't lazy, but thank god they don't start at like 6 am!

Time Since Surgery: 2 years, 3 months

B: Iced coffee with half and half, two eggs made into egg salad with light mayo and mustard and salt and pepper

L: 3 oz Boar's Head deli turkey meat, 2 slices of 2% American cheese

S: I want to eat everything...so hungry today

D: Debating between a turkey burger (no bun) with cheese and avocado and carmelized onions, or peel and eat shrimp (will be at a restaurant)

So my totals are up in the air.

Have a great day, all...I am still deciding whether I can partake in AMAW - Daisy, your post was so inspirational (minus the one lady) but does wine come from a critter?  LOL

Ooooh, good point about the wine.  But I think I can convince myself that vodka is meat based for the sake of this challenge.

Em, I'm in DC on Thursday/Friday!  Are you going to be around?  I think I can ditch the ball and chain for a few hours.  LOL

Yes Yes and Yes!  Are you coming for the cherry blossoms?  They are gorgeous right now!  I will PM you my info - would be great to meet up even for a coffee - or a workout class ;)  (Ask poor Anny, I make her go to classes with me when she visits, but then we have wine, so it all works out in the end LOL)
