Trouble sleeping?

Anyone else develope bad sleeping habits after surgery? I don't want to call it insomnia but I certainly don't sleep like I used to. I used to be able to fall asleep in minutes after my head hit the pillow and sleep through the night until my alarm clock went off. Now I still fall asleep pretty quickly but I wake up in the middle of the night for a few hours and pretty much never sleep through the night. Just curious if this is common after surgery or if there's another reason for this.

Quite the opposite for me.  The first 6mths at least....I slept amazing.  I attributed it to being nearly empty at all times and no caffeine or sugar in my system.  Not sure what it could be waking you up??

This is exactly me.  I fall asleep with no problems, but wake up around 3:30-4 and never really fall back to sleep.  Last night was extra special; I was awake at 2:30.

Same here! I don't seem to need the amount of sleep I needed before surgery. I go to sleep quickly but often wake up for an hour or sometimes 2 at night. No idea why but I'm not sleepy during the day either.

Thats how it's been for me too. I'm normally in bed by 930-10 and wake up for work at 4am.  Now if I sleep 4 hours total at night its a lot. But like you guys i'm not sleeping during the so its not like i'm exhausted all the time.  Everyday I say to myself, i'm definitely gonna need a nap later but it just never happens, I come home from work and start doing things around the house and before I know it, its bed time.  Some days i'm not even tired at night and kind of just force myself to go to bed.  I'm just hoping that this fixes itself and doesnt all just catch up to me one day and find myself sleeping all the time

It might be that you just need less sleep now, but there could be another cause. The first thing that comes to my mind is b vitamins. Taking them too late in the day can really mess with your sleep. Another possibility is a vitamin deficiency. So I would just keep an eye on your labs, but I don't think it's too concerning unless you are tired all the time.
