All Meat All Week Challenge (side post of What's on the Menu Today RNYers)

YAY glad you are joining us Kelly!! Hope you have lots of fun doing this challenge!
That sound cool.. But for someone that does low carb all the way - watch for symptoms of low minerals - salt and magnesium. Going drastic low carb can give a person "me to flu" symptoms, muscle cramps, and constipation. Also - too many proteins with little fat and no carbs can cause hypoglycemia... Proteins trigger insulin release...
I do need my fat - like in nuts, avocado... Olives... So I am out for the "all meat challenge" but it would be fun to see who would really stick with it.

YAY MonLisa, hope you will join us and post your menus and pics, you will do awesome if you are already a "meat" gal!
Spoiler alert! Processed meat including every deli meat is horrid for your health . Please!!!!! Just google is processed meat bad for me. The sodium alone scares the hell out of me , the nitrates, the fat. !!! Red meat , cholesterol folks . This really isn't a game this is our life and I can't just sit back and watch you do something so harmful. I am not a vegetarian . I eat a well balanced meal. Fruit, veggies, lean meat. Please just google !!!!
I can show you just as many scientific studies that show the opposite. Red meat does not cause high cholesterol, simple carbs do. Sodium does not cause the problems its detractors proclaim, fruit is high in sugar and not an especially healthy choice (certainly not for us), and the number of chemicals and bacteria in fruit and vegetables is enough to make you ill -- or kill you, which they have.
You can find both sides of any argument with google. But thanks anyway.

I'll happily share my labs with whoever is interested.
First, I'm on no meds at all, and haven't been for 3-1/2 years. All I take are my vitamins and calcium, like clockwork.
My last cholesterol was 127, with an HDL of 77 and LDL of 49. Triglycerides were 53.
My A1C was 4.5
My resting heart rate is 52, and my average blood pressure is 98/58.
My iron is usually high enough to pull the magnets off my refrigerator when I take out a steak for today's lunch.
I'll be glad to share any other particular lab values, but they're all in the high range of normal except for Vitamin K, and calcium.
I've always eaten a lot of red meat. My cholesterol used to be a little high, but not terrible. What has been cut out to get my numbers where they are has been starches and other carbs -- obviously not the meat.
I'll be glad to update you after my yearly exams if you like. But I'd wager that 95% of Americans would be glad to have my labs.
