Liquid Diet to RNY

Hi all! I'm new here. My surgery is scheduled for this coming Monday.
My question is about hunger and this crazy liquid diet. After the surgery the hunger will go away at least somewhat, right?

Immediately after surgery it goes away for everyone I think. Longer term is different for different people. I'm 8.5 months out and still don't get hungry. I had pretty bad head hunger and cravings about my second and third month, but once I defeated that crap, I've had no hunger at all. Every now and then when I'm almost due for my PPI, I feel a sensation that's similar to hunger, but it's just stomach acid.
The first couple of weeks after surgery is when I was hungriest. Horrible hunger. Then it just disappeared.

I felt hungry since day 1
Sorry to burst your bubble. For some of us the hunger remains. We just have to figure out how to deal with it.

It gets better, at least for most of us. Most of my hunger now is head hunger, which means I have an eating disorder and have the urge to eat, even when I'm not actually hungry. You will likely have issues with that, but it's something most of us have to deal with. 7.5 months post op and feeling great on 800 calories a day!

Thank y'all for the replies. My hunger is already starting to go away on this liquid diet, So I think I'll be one of the lucky ones that has to remind herself to eat. Yay!!! I do miss friend food though, it's weird, but sugar isn't what's getting me, it's stuff like potatoes and gravy and salad with blue cheese. I plan to still be a "foodie" just on a teeny tiny scale with a very picky diet, LOL!
Blessings!

Erg that was supposed to say *my friend food*.
My hunger seems to be at bay right now still nearly 6 weeks out. I cant say anything for cravings though. I still want a pizza and beef jerky (a no no right now since its a dry hard meat)
I think concentrating on hydrating should help in the long run with your hunger. Just getting in the necessary amounts of fluid they want you to have will keep you busy for the first 4 weeks after. It did with me. I thought i was going to be over the protein shakes after surgery. Boy, was I wrong. I need them still.
