Failed Stress Test/Stent Placement

To anyone who has failed their stress test and has had a stent put in...how long do they postpone your surgery after the stent placement are you able to have gastric bypass? thanking you in advance for your input :)

Depends on the type of stent you receive.  Most recommendations are for drug eluting stents you should be on Plavix or something similar for a year before stopping.  Bare metal stents they may let you stop it for a short time for the surgery.  Personally I would want to be on Plavix for at least a year before stopping it.  The risk of the stent closing after a year on Plavix is a little less.  Of course you also need to do life style changes also to help keep the stent open.  But you should always follow what your cardiologist recommends.  I'm not an MD.  He or she will know best.
