Having trouble keeping my calories down and not being hungry. Pureed Stage
The growling and grumbling is most likely your rerouted insides digesting food. My stomach makes so much noise now that hubby swears an alien is in there! A lot of it is head hunger too. You body is used to eating whatever it wanted in whatever quantity whenever. Your mind and your new insides have to learn a new normal if you want to succeed. Also you will feel more full when you can eat solids. Just remind yourself hunger is not an emergency. We have stores to live on for quite some time!
The growling and grumbling is unlikely from hunger. Mine still does, before I eat, during my meal and afterwards, when I drink liquids too cold or too hot. Your system has changed and your new stomach and plumbing are very noisy for a while.
In the pureed stage I probably ate 300-500 calories a day. Maybe that was too low, but it was all I could manage.
Grim has given you good advice, I'm going to put that into practice myself also.
I plan my food for the day every morning before I put a bite of food in my mouth. I have a plan, and I try my best to stick to it. If I have to change it up, I go into myfitnesspal app and change it. I watch my calories, protein and carb intake closely as I go. I'm not always perfect, but I know that if I don't have any plan at all I will over eat.
I've logged in myfitnesspal everyday since the end of October. It's a great habit to get into.
When your stomach is growling and grumbling and it's not time to eat, drink! If you're sick of water, have herbal tea or crystal light.
How often are you eating and how long are you taking to eat? It sounds to me like you are slipping into grazing behavior, which you need to stop immediately. Four to six meals per day period, and never spend more then 1/2 hour eating. If you eat too slow, you can eat endless amounts of slider foods. Unfortunately, you have no choice other than to eat slider foods during the pureed stage, but that is why it is so important to start structuring your meals. Time yourself and stop eating after 30 minutes if that's what you need to do. You can learn to ignore head hunger with practice. I learned during my years of dieting to ignore any hunger signals other than feeling light headed, faint, and shaky. Also, grumbling noises are normal and are in no way connected to hunger. They always happen to me after eating things like protein shakes and yogurt.

It will get better once you move to solid foods. Pureed is tough. Dense protein will do a better job keeping you satisfied. Just hang in there the best you can for now. Maybe try lower calorie versions of some of the foods you are eating, like low-fat cheeses and 0% plain greek yogurt if you are not already eating those. Honestly, I would skip the peas and refried beans because they do not have a high enough protein to calorie ratio. Also, I suggest trying some alternatives to skim milk. I know it's widely recommended, but I found that it just has to many calories and carbs, which is particularly concerning for a liquid. I really like unsweetened almond milk, and unsweetened cashew milk is also a really good choice.

Hi! I am in the pureed stage. I'm having a hard time keeping my calories low enough and not feeling hungry all the time. I'm eating lots of protein - eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, split peas, refried beans, and protein shakes, of course. (Not all of that in one day!) My stomach is growling and grumbling all the time. Maybe it's just head hunger, I don't know. But at the end of the day when I add up my calories, it often comes to 1,000 calories or more and I know that's too many. Any suggestions? (I know, I should be adding up my calories as I go and not at the end of the day).
try almond milk, unsweetened, for your shakes. Carbs, split peas, received beans will make you crave more carbs, causing your pouch to be able to hold way more food also. Go to protein only, forget fruit n begs an see if there isn't a difference.
A food may be on your plan but that doesn't mean it is going to help you lose.

Start tracking your carbs too. Aim for 40 or less a day.
